HERE'S WHY MORE & MORE PEOPLE WANT THE ILLEGAL U.S. OCCUPATION OF HAWAI`I TO END

Native Hawaiians constitute roughly 22 per cent of the state population, but they represent 54 per cent of the prison population.

Not coincidentally, they also have the lowest per capita income, the highest poverty rate and the shortest lifespan of any ethnic group in Hawai`i.

Hawai`i public school students receive very poor education by any standard of measurement. They consistently rank among the lowest of any state in test scores.

Education reform has been talked to death by every governor and legislature of the past 30 years, but nothing substantial has been done.

This has led to a "brain drain" in the islands. Most of the bright students who manage to learn something in spite of the handicapped school system leave Hawai`i for foreign colleges and careers.

In the 1980s, Hawai`i gained the enviable reputation of providing medical insurance to the highest percentage of residents of any state.

A decade after the state ended dental cover, toothless smiles are commonplace among the poor.

Tens of thousands of residents have no medical insurance at all.

Despite higher profits for many businesses, jobs are scarce and most of the available work pays minimum wage or close to it...

In some cases, the lives of the working poor are worse than the unemployed.

Among other things, they don't qualify for state financial assistance or full food stamp benefits.

It's Time To End The U.S. Occupation and Free Hawai`i!

ILLEGAL US OCCUPATION OF HAWAI`I LEAVES HAWAIIANS HOLDING THE BAG ONCE AGAIN

WASHINGTON - The US House yesterday rejected funding for public housing for Native Hawaiians on after the House Republican leader advised party members it could be unconstitutional.

The bill would have reauthorized a 2000 law that guaranteed loans and gave block grants to build infrastructure on land the federal government reserved in the 1920s for Native Hawaiian homesteads.

The vote was 262-162, short of the two-thirds majority needed for passage under a special House procedure.

ALOHA MAI KAKOU!
WELCOME IF YOU'RE VISITING FREEHAWAII.INFO FOR THE FIRST TIME!

Free Hawai`i means returning the Hawaiian Islands back to an independent nation status, as it was before it was illegally overthrown by US marines and rich sugar barons in 1893.

In 1993, President Clinton formally apologized for that act and publicly acknowledged the illegality of the overthrow.

DID YOU KNOW -
98% of all Hawaiians living at the time opposed the illegal overthrow!

Today, less than 20% of all land in Hawai`i is in Hawaiian hands.

Over 60% today is in non-Hawaiian hands!

A few individuals, who are non-Hawaiian, lease an amount of land in Hawai`i that is greater than all land leased to all Native Hawaiians!

Currently, only 72 landowners control 95% of all land in Hawai`i.

Native Hawaiians make up the largest percentage of homeless in Hawai`i today.

Native Hawaiians have the worst social, educational and economic indicators compared to any ethnic group in the US.

Native Hawaiians currently have the worst health profile compared to any ethnic group in the US.

Descendants of the Hawaiian Nation want their country and land back so they can grow their own foods, become healthy once again, and control their own destiny.

HAWAIIANS TO PROTEST OFFENSIVE "STATEHOOD" CELEBRATION

The state House Tourism and Culture Committee unanimously approved a bill yesterday to create a 12-member commission to plan and coordinate the 2009 event, which could cost $250,000.

There hasn't been a lot of noise at public hearings on the measure, but rumblings have

already started among independent-minded Hawaiians, a vocal minority that sees statehood as a painful reminder of what they have lost in terms of culture, language, land and sovereignty.

"They shouldn't be celebrating it," said Haunani-Kay Trask, a professor of Hawaiian
Studies at the University of Hawai`i. "It's celebrating a tragedy that befell the Hawaiian people, which was the overthrow and annexation...."

Vincent Pollard, editor of the Hawai'i Politics WWW Virtual Library, suggested changing the word "celebrate" to "investigate," in his written testimony....

Opponent Rickard Kinney of the Hawaiian Political Action Council of Hawai`i put an ironic twist on this viewpoint in his written testimony, arguing that only Hawai`i's wealthy have benefitted by statehood while many Hawaiians have been forced into homelessness and have died while waiting for promised homes on the Hawaiian Homestead waitlist.

"Like the Territory of Hawai`i, the State of Hawai`i is just an ongoing perpetuation of the wrongs that (were) committed against a friendly nation, its constitutional sovereign and the indigenous native Hawaiian people whose only fault may have been in having too much trust in the United States," he wrote.

AN OUTSIDER'S PERSPECTIVE ON VOICES OF TRUTH - ONE-ON-ONE WITH HAWAI`I'S FUTURE

Did you ever feel something was wrong but you couldn’t exactly put your finger on why?

And remember what it felt like when an expert from the outside showed you what was wrong and why?

“Ah-hah! I knew it all along – I just didn’t know why,” was probably what you thought.

Well, a lot of us have found ourselves feeling exactly that way about the push by the US and their puppets to turn native Hawaiians into Indians by cramming the Akaka bill down everyone’s throat.

“Why are they trying so hard again to get this bill passed?”

“Why haven’t they held one single hearing on any version of the bill in Hawai`i for almost ten years?”

“And why did they hold only one quick hearing in far-off Washington, DC in the dead of winter a couple of years ago and not allow any testimony against the bill?”

Well, we have the outside experts this week to explain the “whys” and exactly what’s rotten here.

Any who have not yet seen our interview with Maui Solomon and Rebecca Tsosie should take the time to watch.

As legal experts on the devastating effects of federal recognition on native peoples, their names keep coming up lately as those who know the cause - why the Akaka bill is so dangerous.

As to the effects of these policies, we also have our segment with Marie Beltran – living on the beach with her `ohana (family.)

Marie’s a classic example of why we need to bring Hawaiian values to Washington, DC and not the other way around.

So pull up a chair this week and find out the real story about both the dangers and effects of federal recognition, right here on Voices Of Truth – One-On-One With Hawai`i’s Future.

NEW PROGRAMMING CHANGE NOTES - Voices Of Truth – One-On-One With Hawai`i’s Future is now seen on Maui on Akaku, Channel 53 on Tuesday evenings at 6:30 PM and Wednesday mornings at 6:30 AM and across Hawai`i Island now on Channel 53, Na Leo at our regularly scheduled days and times.

MONDAY, March 26th At 7:00 PM & FRIDAY, March 30th At 5:30 PM Hawai`i Island – Na Leo, Channel 53

“Even They Can See It – A Visit With Maui Solomon & Rebecca Tsosie”

Maui Solomon, a Maori from Aotearoa (New Zealand,) and Rebecca Tsosie, a member of the Yaqui tribe from southern Arizona, come from two different worlds geographically apart.

Yet, they have much in common.

Successful attorneys, both Maui and Rebecca focus their legal practice in helping to protect their own native people.

And both have seen the devastating effects of federal recognition in their own lands.

“Don’t let it happen here,” is the message they brought to us loud and clear.

By describing what did happen to their people after federal recognition, we have an opportunity to see both the “before and after” picture. And it’s one they tell us it’s a mistake we don’t ever want to make.

You’ll be as hooked as we were as they describe the very same slick arguments and false promises their own politicians put forth to sell federal recognition as those we’ve heard in Hawai`i. And you'll be equally as disgusted when you hear the results. Compelling as they are convincing, their message is one all of us need to hear.

And even though she has aloha for everyone, don’t take her for granted. She’s quick to remind us all that aloha is a two way street.

You’ll hear her message to the US federal government – “We treated you with aloha when you arrived; now treat us with aloha by returning our Nation."

OCCUPIERS PLAN PHONY STATEHOOD CELEBRATION

"WE WEREN'T ADOPTED - WE WERE KIDNAPPED," SAY HAWAIIANS

By Mark Niesse - Associated Press

HONOLULU – When the 50th state celebrates its 50th anniversary in two years, lawmakers hope the party doesn't get out of control.

The bill seeks to avoid confrontations between Hawaiian sovereignty advocates and statehood celebrants that could mar the festivities, which are expected to last throughout 2009 and culminate on Aug. 21 – exactly 50 years after Hawai`i became a state in 1959.

“To me, statehood is not a reason for celebration,” said David Keanu Sai, a University of Hawai`i political science lecturer who is preparing a dissertation on Hawaiian sovereignty. “We've been led to believe that we were adopted, and then we found out we were kidnapped.”

Last year, festivities at `Iolani Palace resulted in a shouting match between Native Hawaiians and American flag-waving statehood celebrants.

LITTLE KNOWN FACTS ABOUT HAWAI`I'S ILLEGAL OVERTHROW

Did you know? -

In 1872 the US Government sent its emissary General John Schofield in civilians clothes to O`ahu to study the coastline, waterways, bays and harbors.

In 1881 Secretary of State James told President Benjamin Harrison that Hawai`i was "of value enough to be taken."

In May 1882 Lorrin Thurston of the secret Annexation Club of Hawai`i met with President Benjamin Harrison requesting assistance with an overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom.

B.F. Tracy, Secretary of the Navy said the president authorized him to say that "if conditions in Hawai`i compel you people to act as you have indicated, and you come to Washington with an annexation proposition, you will find an exceedingly sympathetic administration here."

NEW HEAD OF HAWAI`I TOURISM DARES VISITOR INDUSTRY TO BE AUTHENTIC

"...Tourism in Hawai`i is out of balance and needs to be put back," stated Douglas Kahikina Chang.

He spoke from his own perceptions as the first Native Hawaiian to stand in such a position in the industry.

"The host culture is vibrant and exciting but is continually under siege," he said.

"I think in the past some in the visitor industry didn't believe that an authentic Hawaiian experience would 'sell.'

"They felt a need to provide a version of Hawaiian culture that was packaged for mass
consumption and, frankly, fake- because that's what they thought the customer wanted. The result was a distorted representation of Hawaii and Hawaiians that was, at best, embarrassing and often, offensive to the Hawaiian host culture."

He said, "It is no wonder then, that there has been a rift between the Native Hawaiian community and the visitor industry."

HOW HEALTHY ARE HAWAIIANS TODAY?

Hawaiians suffer the worst health profile in Hawai'i.

Between 1980 and 1990, while rates of death from heart disease, cancer, stroke and diabetes decreased for non-Hawaiians, they increased, sometimes dramatically, for Hawaiians.

Below 1 year of age, the Hawaiian death rate is more than double the overall state average.

Between 1 and 4 years of age, it is triple the state figure, and so on into adulthood.

Just under 20 percent of the population, we suffer 75 percent of the deaths for persons less than 18 years of age.

“Kau Inoa and their Native Hawaiian governing entity is just another attempt to shove federal recognition down our throats. I hate it.”

“How come we almost never see stories about real Hawaiian issues on our local television stations right here in Hawai`i? You’d think we don’t even exist as a people. It’s really shameful.”

Every now and then we come across someone who feels the call of a place and is moved to do something about it.

Junior Kanuha, Kanaka Maoli (Native Hawaiian) with deep roots in North Kona, Moku o Keawe (Hawai`i Island) is just such a person.

Waterman, businessman, community activist and energetic supporter of all things Hawaiian, Junior’s made a personal commitment to cleaning up and caring for wahi pana kahiko, ancient sacred sites.

Keolonahihi in North Kona is the place he cares for – both figuratively and literally. Here’s the extraordinary part – no one asked him to.

Junior tells us he’s just following spiritual direction – he says he’s only the gardener, the caretaker, ka hapai opala, the guy who hauls off the trash.

Don’t miss Junior as he explains not only what he does but also why he does it, revealing along the way the history and significance of this extraordinary place of beauty and ancient history.

What would it be like to be in the US military for eight years, then find yourself living on the streets?

That’s what happened to Andre Perez who went from one extreme to another.

And from the streets, he found his way into the Kaho`olawe occupation, which, by his own accounts, was a life-changing experience.

It had to be because Andre’s never at a loss for words when it comes to defending his people that led him to the next chapter of his life.

Currently the spokesperson for Hui Pu, as well as a Halau Lokahi teacher, Andre found himself in the middle of yet another occupation – the dramatic taking of `Iolani Palace by Hui Pu to publicly oppose the Akaka bill.

As we look to the future of Hawai`i, we’re sure you’ll agree with us that Andre and others like him will play a prominent role in it.

Don’t miss our visit with Andre who’s part of the new generation of warriors who are as fearless as they are articulate. You’ll see why he’s a role model for the `opio (youth) of today as well as a leader for tomorrow.

WHO REALLY OWNS THE LAND TODAY IN HAWAI`I ?

Land Titles Issued Today Are Very Much In Doubt -

"Clear Title," regarding legitimate legal ownership of land in Hawai`i is a topic quickly becoming an issue in the political and commercial areas.

With more lands being "quiet titled" in the courts by unscrupulous characters with the aid of foreign laws (USA and state of Hawai`i) illegally imposed against the rightful/legal owners of these lands and a judicial system aiding and abetting in these crimes; its no wonder developers want to build luxury homes for rich foreigners.

Land titles in Hawai`i continue to carry the original "royal patent" from the mahele. (Land divisions in the mid-1800's)

If the U.S. Government or state of Hawai`i and their citizens rightfully have "clear title" to these lands, then why has the U.S. patent not replaced the royal patent as it was done in 49 other states?

Answer: Each royal patent has been "adjudicated," making them all a legal decree. When purchasing land, a "warranty deed" is issued, not a clear title per se.

Shouldn't a clear title be guaranteed?

Unless, of course, there is no clear title to the land.

HERE'S WHAT ONE USA TODAY READER SAYS ABOUT HAWAI`I'S ILLEGAL OVERTHROW

USA TODAY's article on mounting racial tension in Hawai`i was insightful...

In extending its borders over the aboriginal homelands of Native American Indian tribes, Native Alaskans and Native Hawaiians, the United States trampled the vibrant cultures of once-sovereign nations...

If the native people of Hawai`i continue to occupy the lowest rungs of society, and if the diaspora of Native Hawaiians continues to grow because of the exorbitant cost of living, Hawai`i's "melting pot" will lose its primary ingredient.

Then all of Hawaii loses — Hawaiian and haole, the Hawaiian term for a white person, alike.

DO YOU KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FEDERAL RECOGNITION AND A FREE HAWAI`I ?

A Free Hawai`i is a sovereign state with dominion, the right to join the UN, and fly it's own flag.

More important, independent states have a well-defined set of rights under international law, such as the right not to be invaded and belligerently occupied.

On the other hand, under federal recognition and the Akaka bill, Hawai`i would technically become a "captured nation," meaning that international law could not prohibit the US commencing aggression and total extermination of its indigenous Hawaiian population.

Even worse, Native recognition would be conditional only after extinguishment of Hawaiian Kingdom Citizenship political status (your right to exist.)

US law would not grant full autonomous self-rule and would in fact destroy territorial integrity which continues to exist right now, even as you read these words.

Why reject "native recognition" for a Free Hawai`i ?

Independence is a formal recognition of Hawai`i's territory and laws. It's subjects are not under US jurisdiction.

The Hawaiian Kingdom still has its own bill of rights, constitution and comprehensive complied laws.

Only by the assertion of our Dominion and Hawai`i Territorial Authority can we protect our beloved homeland with international support.

FROM A LEGAL OPINION OF THE US DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE - OCTOBER 4, 1988

"It is therefore unclear which constitutional power congress exercised when it aquired Hawai'i by joint resolution.

Accordingly,
it is doubtful that the acquisition of Hawai'i can serve as a constitutional power congress exercised when it aquired Hawai'i by joint resolution.

It is doubtful that the aquisition of Hawai'i can serve as an appropriate precedent for a congressional assertion of sovereignty..."

IT'S ABOUT GIVING - NOT GETTING - ON VOICES OF TRUTH - ONE-ON-ONE WITH HAWAI`I'S FUTURE

Mahalo to all of you who contacted us over the past week with your mana`o (thoughts) on our new segment with Marie Beltran.

It was surprising just how much response it generated.

About half of you wrote to say how moved and touched you were by Marie’s aloha spirit and amazing dignity.

The rest expressed strong feelings of anger and indignity that people such as Marie would be houseless in Hawai`i in the first place.

Such are the extremes we find all too often in a Hawai`i illegally occupied by the US.

The common message from everyone however was the need for a Hawai`i that is not about winning a political game rife with inequalities, but about creating a society that produces better lives.

As we have seen ever so clearly in Iraq over the last four years, it can’t be done while another country with overwhelming military might is occupying yours.

Nevertheless, the path to a Free Hawai`i starts one person at a time and Marie Beltran and those like her are walking that path every single day.

What about you? What are you doing to kokua (help?)

HOW DID HAWAIIANS BECOME OUTCASTS IN THEIR OWN LAND ?

Here's What The History Books Won't Tell You -

Western diseases, to which Hawaiians had no immunity, decimated their numbers.

At the time of western contact, up to one million people inhabited the Hawaiian Islands.

By 1805 that number had been halved. By 1853 there were only 71,000 Hawaiian or part-Hawaiian people in the islands.

Within 100 years of western contact, the Hawaiian population had been reduced by nearly 90 percent.

According to the 2000 census, the numbers of people who claim some native Hawaiian ancestry have increased to over 400,000. But only 239,000 live in Hawai`i and they are the poorest, most locked-up population in the state.

Although they now make up about 23 percent of the state's population, in June 2001 they made up 39 percent of the state's prison population, according to the state Department of Public Safety.

Sadly, today they make up 37 percent of the state's homeless population.

HERE'S HOW THE US GOVERNMENT, WITH THE HELP OF THE OFFICE OF HAWAIIAN AFFAIRS, IS PLANNING TO STEAL THE HAWAIIAN NATION - ONCE AND FOR ALL!

By their own laws, the US cannot simply walk in and take Hawaiian land titles and erase the word "Royal" and replace it with "United States" Patent.

They and the State of Hawai`i have never had "Clear Title" since Jan 17, 1893.

They all know this and have known for a long time.

The only way the United States will ever be able to get clear title to the Hawaiian Islands is if Hawaiians give it to them.

This is why title to the Hawaiian Islands never transferred to the United States by the Newlands resolution.

The Newlands resolution relied on the treaty of Annexation from the republic of Hawai`i. But the republic never owned title because the Kingdom of Hawai`i never gave it to them.

But now they got a plan.....they are going to get Hawaiians to give title to them.

How are they going to do that?

Here's how -

They are going to register a majority of Hawaiians to sign onto the Office of Hawaiian Affairs Kau Inoa roll.

They are going to draft governing documents to "re-organize the Hawaiian government".

They are going to get Hawaiians to elect officers to that government.

They are going to make sure those governing documents give the officers of the government the authority to give away title in negotiations.

They are going to get the majority of Hawaiians on the Kau Inoa roll to vote for the new governing documents to reorganize the Hawaiian government.

That government authorized and approved by the majority of Hawaiians is going to sit down at the negotiating table with the United States and trade land title for cash and benefits.

Many people believe that only the Kingdom of Hawai`i is authorized to give a way title to the Hawaiian Islands.... and they are correct, but only as long as the kingdom remains intact.

If the majority of its subjects revolt by forming a new government, the kingdom no longer exists.

This is the effect of popular revolution. A federal recognition bill is only the bait. The hook is the formation of a new government and the negotiations between the U.S. and the new government.

As long as Hawaiians don't bite the bait...the hook is harmless....The bill is not intended to settle any claims.... The bill dos not tell Hawaiians, but asks them to form a government that can and will extinguish Hawaiians claims.

IS THIS YOUR FIRST VISIT TO FREEHAWAII.INFO ?

Free Hawai`i means returning the Hawaiian Islands back to an independent, sovereign nation status, like it was before it was illegally overthrown by US marines and rich sugar barons in 1893.

In 1993, President Clinton formally apologized for that act and publicly acknowledged the illegality of the overthrow.

Did you know -

98% of all Hawaiians living at the time opposed the illegal overthrow!

Today, less than 20% of all land in Hawai'i is in Hawaiian hands. Over 60% is in non-Hawaiian hands.

How Much Do You Really Know About The Akaka Bill?
Here's A Quick True Or False Quiz To Find Out

WHY DO NATIVE HAWAIIANS WANT THEIR NATION AND LAND BACK?

- Because today Native Hawaiians are at a criical juncture to survive as a people.

- Because for foreign business interests it's a matter of profit and loss. For Native Hawaiians it's a matter of life and death.

- Because we seek to protect our natural resources.

- Because while Native Hawaiian families are struggling to survive, their water is being shipped to the other side of the island so that housing and resorts can be built by rich foreigners.

- Because it is our national inheritance - never given away by either native treaty or by native vote.

IS THE STATE OF HAWAI`I FACT OR FICTION ?

The State of Hawai`i is a fiction. For instance, books are nonfiction or fiction - one true, the other made up.

If you are a Hawaiian National and vote in the State of Hawai`i or federal elections, you destroy what you are trying to accomplish. You acquiesce to their jurisdiction and become a U.S. citizen. You cannot be both at the same time.

History shows that Hawaiians successfully eluded all the plots, machinations and terrorism of the occupying nation for 111 years by objecting as one voice to annexation in the beginning with the Anti-Annexation Petitions of 1897, and then simply by not voting in the occupying nation’s elections.

History Clearly Shows The Hawaiian Nation Was Not Annexed - It Was Stolen!

WHO IS REALLY RICH? - ON VOICES OF TRUTH - ONE-ON-ONE WITH HAWAI`I'S FUTURE?

What is real wealth to you?

Real estate, automobiles, jewelry and lots of money in the bank?

Or is it family, your community, feeling the wind caress your body while listening to someone sing and play their ukulele as you walk along the beach?

An easy trap is accepting the occupier’s definition of riches simply because it’s all around us.

You know – turning into those “it’s never enough” machines they call consumers.

The real irony is Kanaka Maoli (Native Hawaiians) who are some of the wealthiest people on earth due to vast natural resources in Hawai`i, both on land and in the sea, instead know where their real riches are – family, and in aloha `aina – respecting and caring for the land.

So who controls all those natural resources in Hawai`i today?

Not Hawaiians.

It’s the US, which makes billions each year from resources that were stolen from the Hawaiian Nation over a century ago.

In a brand new segment this week, we introduce someone who lives on the beach – and yet is very rich indeed.

Marie Beltran knows who she is, and she’ll tell you right away where her real riches are – inside - and whom she sees as the real impoverished.

It’s not her, or her family, but those who took Hawai`i.

And she’ll also be the first to remind you that while she’s filled with aloha, she wants nothing less than her Nation back - a Free Hawai`i.

Sharing Marie, her powerful mana`o (insights) and what we all can learn from her amazing philosophy of life is simply another way we bring you some of the real riches of Hawai`i on Voices Of Truth – One-On-One With Hawai`i’s Future.

MONDAY, March 5th At 7:00 PM & FRIDAY, March 9th At 5:30 PM Hawai`i Island – Na Leo, Channel 53

TUESDAY, March 6th At 6:30 PM & WEDNESDAY, March 7th At 6:30 AM Maui – Akaku, Channel 53

THURSDAY, March 8th At 8:30 PM & FRIDAY, March 9th At 8:30 AM Kaua`i – Ho`ike, Channel 52

SATURDAY, March 10th At 8:00 PM O`ahu - ‘Olelo, Channel 53
“Life On The Beach – A Visit With Marie Beltran”

What would it be like to be houseless and living on the beach with your family?

Marie Beltran has called Mokule`ia beach home for the last fourteen years.

Yet here’s the most amazing part – she lives there because she wants to.

Marie tells us she’s had visitors literally from all over the world come and visit – and sometimes stay for dinner.

And even though she has aloha for everyone, don’t take her for granted. She’s quick to remind us all that aloha is a two way street.

You’ll hear her message to the US federal government – “We treated you with aloha when you arrived; now treat us with aloha by returning our Nation."

Don’t miss this moving segment with this very special person, See life through the eyes of a family which lives life far simpler than most of us, yet rich with aloha for everyone.

Voices Of Truth interviews those creating a better future for Hawai`i to discover what made them go from armchair observers to active participants in the hopes of inspiring viewers to do the same.

Those not in Hawai`i wishing to view the series may do so by visiting http://www.olelo.org and then clicking “NAT- Channel 53.” A screen should then display allowing you to see the show via live streaming.

WHAT ARE THE OPTIONS FOR A FREE HAWAI`I?

A move for Hawai`i to secede from the US would be both unnecessary and inappropriate.

Much like removing the top coat of paint to reveal the one underneath, the US Congress, after consultation between Hawaiians and the US at the level of state to state, could simply enact a US federal law that dissolves the entity known as the “state government” in Hawai’i.

What would be left in its place is what has existed all along anyway without interruption – the Nation of Hawai`i.

Only at that point, would it be appropriate for the citizens of Hawai`i to decide their future as it relates to a relationship with the United States.

Those possibilities would include –

Full Independence -
Joining once again the family of nations in the world.

Free Association Much like Palau and the Federated States of Micronesia.

Integration with the US Becoming a state again or a tribe of the US under federal recognition.

Did you know that when Ronald Reagan was president, one of the most conservative US presidents in recent times, his administration actually granted the Marshall Islands independence in 1986, which then lead to a free association relationship with the US?

Precedent for Hawaiian independence exists right now within US law as outlined above.

There are
no laws that exist today within the US to prevent the US federal government from dissolving a state government.

It's only fear and ignorance that holds the status quo in place.

WHO WINS IN A FREE AND INDEPENDENT HAWAI`I ? - EVERYONE !

One of the biggest lies perpetuated today is that when Hawai`i achieves nationhood once again it will be at the expense of everyone else.

But no one will be kicked out; their businesses seized or their homes and property confiscated. Instead, everyone, Hawaiians and all others, will be citizens of the sovereign and independent Nation of Hawai`i.

The Hawaiian Nation included people of many ethnic backgrounds that were loyal citizens before the illegal overthrow and it will be so again.

The truth is a sovereign Hawaiian nation will need the contributions and talents of all of its citizens to remain viable in the world.

Hawaiians would be no better than the very supremacists that overthrew and occupied them were they to divide people by race.
Hawaiians have always been inclusive, not exclusive.

How would this be accomplished politically given a civil war resulted the last time a state tried to leave the US?

Unlike the southern US states, the Kingdom of Hawai`i and its citizens never agreed to become part of the United States in the first place.

Therefore a move for Hawai`i to secede from the US would be both unnecessary and inappropriate.
