Here's What's Showing This Week On

Voices of Truth - One-on-One With Hawai'i's Future -

Voices of Truth airs twice this week on 'Olelo on O'ahu -

Thursday, Sept 30th at 6:30 PM - "Giving Back - A Visit With Sabra Kauka." Sabra, a Kaua'i-based community developer, cultural and environmental practitioner of traditional art forms and educator extraordinaire. A very special Kanaka Hawai'i Maoli wahine who shares with us her tapa making and basket weaving skills. Sabra is not only a wonderful role model, but a true inspiration. If you didn't see Sabra last week, here's your chance to catch her. A good show to watch with 'ohana.

Saturday, Oct 2nd at 8 PM - "From Hawai'i To Russia and Back - A Visit With Kimo Perry ." In this brand new segment, we visit with Native Hawaiian Education Island Council facilitator and young multi cultural and Hawaiian role model Kimo Perry about his life in Russia, his return home and what the people of Russia have to say about Hawaiian Independence. Kimo's stories and life experiences are lessons for us all. A segment not to be missed!

Viewers on Maui and Moloka'i will be able to watch a very important special, "E Mau Ke Ea - A Shameful Story," on Akaku, Visions - Channel 53 at 6:30 PM tomorrow evening, Wednesday, Sept 29th.

This program details the current struggle with leasehold conversion property on O'ahu that threatens the very existence and continued viability of the Queen Lili'uokalani Trust among others. Learn what real estate operatives and politicians are doing in their drive to steal Native Hawaiians assets once again.

Then on Ho'ike - Channel 52 on Kaua'i, it's "Travels To Foreign Lands," Thursday, Sept 30th at 8:30 PM.

In it, we recount the participation and contributions of Hawaiians at the Third Annual Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues at the United Nations as well as the substance of our, until now, closed door meetings on Capitol Hill this last May. If you haven't seen it yet, here's a chance to catch this very timely segment.

Voices of Truth interviews activists in the Hawaiian Independence movement to discover what made them go from armchair observers to active participants in the hopes of inspiring viewers to do the same.

Those not in Hawai'i wishing to view the series may do so by visiting
www.olelo.org and then clicking "NATV-Channel 53.” A screen should then display allowing you to see the show via live streaming.

All show times listed above are Hawai'i Standard Time (HST.)
