A brand new segment for our viewers on Maui and Moloka'i, "Doing It All - A Visit With Clarence Ku Ching."
Ku is a Native Hawaiian cultural practitioner on Hawai'i Island as well as an athlete, scientist, attorney, politician, activist and former OHA trustee. Ku shares with us his very special connection to the 'aina and his vision of Hawai'i for the future. A truly inspirational Kanaka. On Akaku, Visions, Channel 53 this Wednesday at 6:30 PM.
THURSDAY, DECEMBER 2nd -
"Giving Back - A Visit With Sabra Kauka," on Ho'ike, Channel 52 this Thursday at 8:30 PM. Viewers on Kaua'i can see one of their own, Hawaiian Studies educator Sabra Kauka of Lihu'e. Basket weaving, tapa making and cultural preservation are just a few of the many things Sabra shares with us. If you haven't seen her yet, here's your chance .
FRIDAY, DECEMBER 3rd -
One of our newest segments, "Living The Values - A Visit With Kupuna Kailua Paha-Reyes."
Kailua is a revered elder and cultural practitioner from Kaunakakai, Moloka'i. Kupuna Kailua has worked with the DOE on Moloka'i as a community resource and proudly lives the values of her Native Hawaiian culture.
It airs on Na Leo Television, channel 54, on both sides of Hawai'i island this Friday evening at 5:30 PM , and again on Saturday at 7:00 PM on the Kona side only.
SATURDAY, DECEMBER 4th -
Expatriate, repatriate, young multi-cultural makua role model and Native Hawaiian Education Island Council facilitator Kimo Perry of Kaua'i is featured in "From Hawai'i to Russia and Back - A Visit With Kimo Perry."
Kimo reveals to us not only that he came back from Russia with a bride, but what the people of Russia think about Independence for Hawai'i.
A real eye-opening segment as Kimo talks about not only his life-broadening experience of what it's like as a Hawaiian to live in far-away Russia, but his deeper connection with his island home as a result. On 'Olelo for our viewers on O'ahu at 8 PM.
"Voices of Truth" interviews activists in the Hawaiian Independence movement to discover what made them go from armchair observers to active participants in the hopes of inspiring viewers to do the same.
