Our shows this week are about people who never stop giving and creating - for others.

Jackie Burke and Imaikalani Kalahele are as talented as they are generous in sharing their accomplishments and creations with us all - as you're about to see.

In another of our second season segments, Jackie reminds us of the saying, "If you want something done, just ask a busy person to do it."

As if being publisher of the Oiwi Files wasn't enough, Jackie has somehow found time to launch a plan for Sovereignty Buses that will travel throughout Hawai`i as well as across the US to educate and spread the message of Native Hawaiian self-determination.


On top of that, she plans to film a documentary on the project as the buses travel.

And did we mention that she also has not one but two masters degrees as part of her action plan?

We're sure you'll agree that Jackie's a superb role model for making things happen as she shares with us her exciting vision for the future of Hawai`i.

SATURDAY, December 17th - On 'Olelo this Saturday at 8 PM.
"Poetry In Motion - A Visit With Imaikalani Kalahele."


Another of our brand new segments, Imaikalani, both political activist and artist has fused both talents to create unique and beautiful works of art that deeply express his heritage as Native Hawaiian.

In addition, he's also a published poet and playwright.

Imaikalani graciously shares with us an inside and personal look at some of his artwork and exactly what went into the crafting of each piece which even includes a stunning mural depicting an oli that was done entirely in felt markers!

If you have a budding artists in your family, sit down with them and watch this one. Yet all of us, artists or not, will gain much insight and inspiration from this very gifted creator with his wonderful message for us all.

Voices of Truth interviews those creating a better future for Hawai`i to discover what made them go from armchair observers to active participants in the hopes of inspiring viewers to do the same.
