A WARRIOR'S MOUNTAIN TOP MISSION ON VOICES OF TRUTH - ONE-ON-ONE WITH HAWAI`I'S FUTURE

Mahalo for the many words of appreciation this last week for our segment with Dr. Baron Ching, MD and his Huaka`i segment.

We're glad so many of you found it as facinating as we did.

And because of your feedback, we decided to continue the Mauna Kea theme this week as we showcase another for whom that mountain means so much - Keoni Choi.

As you know, we strive to present role models who will inspire us all to do our piece in creating a brighter future for Hawai`i and Keoni is no exception here, as both a brave warrior who knows his mission and someone who's fearless in carrying it out.

Mountain top inspiration - what could be better or more beautiful and it's all here waiting for you on Voices Of Truth - One-On-One With Hawai`i's Future.

MONDAY, February 20th At 7:00 PM & FRIDAY, February 24th At 5:30 PM - Hawai`i Island - Na Leo, Channel 54 -
"Malo On Mauna Kea - A Visit With Keoni Choi."

We continue our reports from Mauna Kea this week again with someone who knows the mountain well, and has stepped in to help stop the desecration.

Keoni Choi, who is both a cultural practitioner and Na Koa activist, relates his attempts to protect the sacred mountain top from development and incursion by the University of Hawai`i, the so-called "state of Hawai`i government" and of course the U.S. military.

Keoni is indeed an inspiring warrior who has dedicated his life to protecting Mauna Kea as well as other places on Hawai`i island.

Here's one the entire `ohana (family) will want to sit down for and meet this warrior-sage as he shares his incredible mission in words and photographs of one of the most sacred and breathtaking places in all of Hawai`i.

WEDNESDAY, February 22nd At 6:30 PM - Maui - Akaku, Channel 53
SATURDAY, February 25th At 8:00 PM - O`ahu - 'Olelo, Channel 53
"Hawaiian Independence At The United Nations - Part One"

In this first part of a brand new two-part series, Koani Foundation Director Kai`opua Fyfe, during a break in proceedings at the UN, relates his experiences of what happened when he went to Capitol Hill in Washington, DC this last spring and attempted to testify against the Akaka bill.

With Senator John McCain chairing the Senate Hearings, what Kai`opua found was that only those supporting the bill were scheduled to speak despite his numerous attempts to be included.

But, while no negative testimony was allowed, Kai`opua did see and hear some very eye opening things that will definitely surprise you.

Be sure and catch this unique first person account of what it's like to be a part of a US Senate hearing, along with some of the most powerful people in the US in the same room attempting to stack the deck their way once more.

THURSDAY, February 23rd At 8:30 PM & FRIDAY, February 24th At 8:30 AM - Kaua`i - Ho`ike, Channel 52

"Hawaiian Superman - A Visit With Dr. Kanalu Young, PhD."

Rarely do we come across an individual as remarkable as Kanalu Young, a quadriplegic and Professor of Hawaiian history at the University of Hawai`i on O`ahu.

If that isn't impressive enough, he's also Director of the Masters Program at Kamakakuokalani, the Center For Hawaiian Studies on campus.

Even though he's currently bed ridden at home under doctor's orders, Kanalu accomplishes more in one day than most. Setting up his bedroom as his office, the world now comes to Kanalu - literally.

He meets on almost a daily basis with dignitaries and educators from all over the world as well as conducting his work for the university - all from his bed.

Of course we went calling on Kanalu, in his office/bedroom, and found an amazing individual indeed who lets absolutely nothing stop him.

So if you're looking for a big dose of high inspiration and want to meet a world-class expert at showing us all how to become unstoppable as well as putting our own challenges in perspective, sit down with your entire `ohana and meet Hawai`i's Superman.
