FORGING A FREE HAWAI`I ON VOICES OF TRUTH - ONE-ON-ONE WITH HAWAI`I'S FUTURE

It’s been another week of so many of you contacting us to both celebrate the demise of the Akaka bill and to ask, “So, what now?”

Well, this week we begin the “What now” with our interview with Kailua attorney Dexter Kaiama who is a perfect example of the talent within our midst.

Dex is someone full of ideas and active in many ways. We believe you’ll be as excited as we were when we visited with him and heard what he had to say.

We also feature Isaac Harp who explains the huge difference between Kingdom or National rights and aboriginal rights and what all of us stand to lose if we allow OHA to continue to recklessly spend beneficiary’s money to pursue only aboriginal rights.

Don’t miss it.

And yes, for the many of you who have requested, we’ll soon have brand new segments airing featuring both Leon Siu and Clarence Ku Ching, talking about their experiences on Capitol Hill last month in Washington, DC helping to defeat the Akaka bill.

We promise it’ll be as good a thriller as any you’re sure to come across.

A reminder once more that it’s patriots working at the grassroots level making sure history comes out the right way.

It’s their stories we bring you this week, as always, on Voices Of Truth – One-On-One With Hawai`i’s Future.

MONDAY, July 3rd At 7:00 PM & FRIDAY, July 7th At 5:30 PM - Hawai`i Island - Na Leo, Channel 54
“Faces Of The Nation – Voices Of Truth Live At `Iolani Palace – Part Two”

We continue our fascinating interviews at `Iolani Palace grounds last January when Native Hawaiians and their supporters gathered to spend the weekend showing everyone the Hawaiian Nation is still alive.

As in part one, we continued to discover specialists in every field of endeavor - people who will ably fill the needs of the Nation, who know our history and understand a Free Hawai`i benefits everyone.

In this segment we meet Native Hawaiian attorney Dexter Kaiama.

As a relative newcomer to the movement, Dex talks of his background, his involvement with Hui Pu, and exactly what made him become involved in helping to create a better future for all of Hawai`i’s people.

With the Akaka bill defeated, if you’re wondering, “What now?” this is one to watch. Dexter is filled with passion and ideas about the Hawai`i of tomorrow as anyone you’ll want to meet. Full of inspiration and possibility, he reminds us of the potential in us all.

WEDNESDAY, July 5th At 6:30 PM & THURSDAY, July 6th At 6:45 AM - Maui - Akaku, Channel 53
“A Violation Of Trust – Part One”

At their conference in Honolulu last August, the Council For Native Hawaiian Advancement (CNHA) invited several representatives of federally recognized Native American tribes and Alaska Native Corporations to promote the economic benefits of federal recognition and oil drilling in the Artic National Wildlife Refuge.

When the Gwich'in, the native people who actually live on that land asked to participate in the discussions, the CNHA refused their request.

Not to be silenced, the Gwich'in did come to Honolulu and, with help from their many Hawai`i supporters, presented panel discussions and an Artic Film Festival at the State Capitol.

They also rented a conference room close to the CNHA convention to share the truth with all who would listen.

What they revealed was stunning.

A proud and self-sufficient people, the Gwich'in refuse to allow the violation of their natural environment.

They recount their life of poverty and deprivation under federal recognition and their constant battles with the US federal government and alien economic opportunists.

It has become clearly apparent that certain individuals within the CNHA have been secretly working with senators from both Alaska and Hawai`i to promote drilling in the ANWR, against the wishes of the Gwich'in, and also to force federal recognition here in Hawai`i - for personal gain.

In this emotionally charged segment, hear the truth for yourself - what the CNHA has tried to hide as Alaskan Natives describe how oil is destroying their physical and spiritual health and their traditional lives. Hear the disastrous effects of federal recognition on these special people.

THURSDAY, July 6th At 8:30 PM & FRIDAY, July 7th At 8:30 AM - Kaua`i -
Ho`ike, Channel 52
SATURDAY, July 8th At 8:00 PM - O`ahu - 'Olelo, Channel 53
“Who Are The Real Hawaiians? - A Visit With Isaac Harp”

In the wake of the defeat of the Akaka bill, why is OHA now saying they’re going ahead with nation building but only with aboriginal rights?

Confused? You're not alone. Well, get ready to separate fact from fiction.

Native Hawaiian rights, aboriginal rights and Kingdom rights. What's the difference between them, and why did federal recognition only offer aboriginal and not Kingdom rights?

Which is more significant, and why don't OHA and the backers of federal recognition want you to know the difference between the two?

Long time Hawaiian freedom fighter Isaac Harp explains the difference and what's at stake for us all, Kanaka or not.

Watch this segment and discover for yourself what they don't want you to know and more importantly don't want you to have.

Voices of Truth interviews those creating a better future for Hawai`i to discover what made them go from armchair observers to active participants in the hopes of inspiring viewers to do the same.
