As promised, this week we debut a brand new segment with Bumpy Kanahele dealing with important health issues facing Hawaiians.
Bumpy says that everyone who knows him seems to bring up his involvement in the Hawaiian self-determination movement as well as present day challenges facing Hawaiians.
"Hey, when are you Hawaiians going to get together? You guys gotta get unified,” is what he kept hearing over and over.
Well, it dawned on Bumpy a totally different process was missing to unify Hawaiians - through health and wellness.
So that’s what Bumpy turned his attention and dedication to, creating Malama First. (Malama means to care for.)

As someone who’s been involved for many years in the Native Hawaiian self-determination movement, Bumpy has pretty much seen and heard it all.
Yet he realized one day how fundamentally important Hawaiian health is, for if you prematurely get sick and die, what does living in a Free Hawai`i matter?
So Bumpy created Malama First.
Bumpy describes for us his I-Health Bio-Energy Feedback system used to assist Hawai`i's kupuna (elders) in attaining a healthy balance and harmony between major organs in the body.
Bumpy makes sure kupuna are treated free or on a very generous sliding scale and no one is turned away for financial reasons.
