A JOURNEY OF OCCUPATION ON VOICES OF TRUTH - ONE-ON-ONE WITH HAWAI`I'S FUTURE
Mahalo one and all yet another week for your enthusiastic feedback on our latest Voices Of Truth segments.
Everyone likes our visit with Manu Meyer – we told you she’s awesome!
And so many of you also commented on our interview with Rebecca Tsosie and Maui Solomon regarding the disastrous experiences with federal recognition involving their own native peoples.
But did you ever wonder about the path traveled by some only to find themselves on the front lines fighting for a Free Hawai`i ?
How it has affected them as individuals, their families, and what price have they paid?
This week we debut a brand new Voices Of Truth segment with Hui Pu spokesperson Andre Perez.
Andre’s not the type to take much of anything lying down when it comes to protecting his own people and the Hawaiian Nation.
He’s very up front regarding the ups and downs in his own life that ultimately led to his involvement with Hui Pu.
As a matter of fact, we’re excited to bring you an excerpt of our interview with Andre right here, on Free Hawai`i TV – part of the Free Hawai`i Broadcasting Network.
What more can we say?
Don’t miss our full interview with Andre - tune in this week as he reveals his own fascinating personal journey of occupation on Voices Of Truth – One-On-One With Hawai`i’s Future.

“Aloha Is Our Intelligence – A Visit With Manu Aluli Meyer”
“If knowledge is power, then understanding is liberation.”
Manu Myer is not your average educator - or human being for that matter.
Growing up as someone who was much better in the school yard than with school books, Manu quickly developed what few of her teacher’s saw – an incredible intellect and capacity for motivating others.
Today, Manu is in a class all by herself – as comfortable with Hawaiian epistemology and quantum physics as she is with her own ukulele.
Having just returned from a year in Aotearoa (New Zealand) packed with incredible adventures and experiences, she reveals not only what she learned, but why the people and `aina of that placed have so deeply affected her.
Be sure and sit your entire `ohana (family) down and hear Manu as she reveals what quantum physics and indigenous culture have in common, as well as her vision of a Free Hawai`i few of us have ever imagined. We promise this is one Hawai`i Maoli wahine you’ll remember for a long time to come.

“A Journey Of Occupation – A Visit With Andre Perez”
What would it be like to be in the US military for eight years, then find yourself living on the streets?
That’s what happened to Andre Perez who went from one extreme to another.
And from the streets, he found his way into the Kaho`olawe occupation, which, by his own accounts, was a life-changing experience.
It had to be because Andre’s never at a loss for words when it comes to defending his people that led him to the next chapter of his life.
Currently the spokesperson for Hui Pu, as well as a Halau Lokahi teacher, Andre recently found himself in the middle of yet another occupation – the dramatic taking of `Iolani Palace last year by Hui Pu to publicly oppose the Akaka bill.
As we look to the future of Hawai`i, we’re sure you’ll agree with us that Andre and others like him will play a prominent role in it.
Don’t miss our visit with Andre who’s part of the new generation of warriors who are as fearless as they are articulate. You’ll see why he’s a role model for the `opio (young) of today as well as a leader for tomorrow.
