ONIPA`A - A BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION FOR HAWAI`I'S QUEEN

Historic Play To Re-Enact Quest To Keep Hawai`i Free


Queen Lili`uokalani will be honored on her birthday this Sunday at `Iolani Palace grounds in Honolulu, the only legitimate seat of the Hawaiian Nation.

Ka Lei Maile Ali‘i Civic Club will present a re-enactment of Ka Lei Maile Ali`i - The Queen's Women.

This critically acclaimed play portrays Hawai`i's last monarch and her loyal kingdom subjects as they attempt to stave off illegal annexation of Hawai`i by the US.

Dramatic and emotionally charged, Ka Lei Maile Ali`i - The Queen's Women brings vividly to life the people of Hawai`i's love for their monarch and land, as well as their strong determination to remain a free, independent country.

Show times are
10:30 AM and 1:30 PM in the Kana`ina building on the Palace grounds.

The event will feature educational materials and exhibits on native Hawaiian history and culture.

All day entertainment will feature Hawaiian music and several halau hula.
