GEARING UP TO STOP THE SUPERFERRY ON VOICES OF TRUTH - ONE-ON-ONE WITH HAWAI`I'S FUTURE

A fight is rounds, and what we’ve seen so far with the Superferry is just the first two or three.

There are many more to go before this one’s over and the people who love their land are gearing up and getting ready.

This last week saw the illegal occupying government some call the legislature once again completely ignoring the voice of the people only to roll over to Linda Lingle and big foreign money like a puppy in obedience class.

Never mind that Hawai`i ‘s citizens turned out in droves to public hearings on the Superferry to express their outrage.

Never mind that virtually all those attending, both for and against the Superferry, agreed that an environmental impact statement should be completed before the ship sails again.

And never mind that hard evidence is now emerging that similar ships in service around the world identical to the Superferry create both serious and significant environmental problems.

The fact is, the people who love their land are now gearing up on all islands to stop rich foreigners and the US military from imposing their will on Hawai`i starting today with protests on Kaua`i, Maui and O`ahu.

This Wednesday on FreeHawaiiTV we’ll be telling you about the real reason why the legislature so willingly capitulated – money donated to their pockets – and we’re naming names.

Be sure and catch it starting this Wednesday on FreeHawaiiTV.

So it’s far from over.

And you can count on the Free Hawai`i Broadcasting Network to bring you all the latest updates starting with our two most popular shows getting the most requests to be aired again this week on Voices Of Truth – One-On-One With Hawai`i’s Future.

“Super(Military)Ferry – A Visit With Jeff Satcher”

“No Super (Military) Ferry in Kawaihae.” That’s what Jeff Satcher says.

Jeff knows one of the main reasons they’re pushing the Superferry so hard in Hawai`i – transport of US military vehicles.

Living in Hawai`i for only a few years, he’s already been accepted with aloha by the broad Kawaihae community opposing the Superferry.

Volunteering his time, energy, resources and high-tech skills, Jeff’s practically a one-man communication center for inter-island collaboration between the quickly expanding groups of activists outraged by the state and federal governments’ arrogant disregard for the law and will of the people.

Jeff reminds us “the port facilities at Kawaihae can’t handle the military vehicles, materiel and personnel that will be the Superferrys’ bread and butter cargo. Our roads can't even handle the existing traffic.”

Don’t miss one of our most fascinating interviews yet as Jeff reveals one of the main people who are behind the Superferry – a former US Secretary of the Navy. You’ll see why the US wants to be able to transport military vehicles and equipment to the neighbor islands on a daily basis - but not if Jeff Satcher and his allies can help stop it.

THURSDAY, November 8th At 8:30 PM & FRIDAY, November 9th At 8:30 AM
Kaua`i – Ho`ike, Channel 52
“Radio Free Kaua`i – A Visit With Ka`iulani Edens-Huff”

Ka`iulani Edens-Huff, Kanaka Maoli national and local talk-radio hostess is known for more than just talk. She also walks her talk.

With many years of active community involvement on Kaua`i, an issue came along recently that galvanized her even more – the Superferry.

Suddenly the microphone at KKCR radio was used to call the entire island to rise up in active opposition to the Superferry.

It worked – over one thousand residents answered Ka`iulani’s call and turned out at Nawiliwili harbor to stop the Superferry on its maiden trip.

A devoted wife and mother, yet never one to shy from controversy, Ka`iulani’s radio show, Songs of Sovereignty contains not only Hawaiian music, but information about current struggles on Kaua`i and throughout the Hawaiian Nation.

How can one wahine be so brave?

You’ll want to see this one, as we catch Ka`iu outside the radio, down at Nawiliwili Harbor, and inside the Superferry “security zone”. Be prepared for threats of bodily harm, pepper-spray and wall slamming. Join Ka`iulani in action, but you’d better be ready to rumble.

SATURDAY, November 10th At 8:00 PMO`ahu -
`Olelo, Channel 53

“From The Atlantic To The Pacific – A Visit With Maurice Major”

Maurice “Mo” Major was born and raised very far from Hawai`i - on the Atlantic side of the North American continent in Virginia.

After graduating with a degree in anthropology, Mo and his college sweetheart began their married life in Hawai`i, the most remote location they could travel to without a passport, way out in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

Holding an archaeology permit from the State Historic Preservation Division, Mo specializes in research, stabilization and preservation of ancient Hawaiian sites.

His passion is the stunning beauty of remote and historically significant Nu`alolo Kai valley on the Na Pali coast of Kaua`i and his real gift is making the ancient past of Nu`alolo Kai come alive right before your eyes.

Mo’s been involved with Nu`alolo Kai archaeological work and Na Pali Coast `Ohana since 1996, and is primary author of both the archaeological inventory report and preservation plan for this amazing site.

Even when family obligations required Mo’s return to the family homestead in Virginia, he continued volunteering with Na Pali Coast `Ohana - collaborating by internet on short and long-term strategies, plans and reports.

If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to go back in time to the days of ancient Hawai`i, don’t miss our incredible visit with Mo as we travel with him into Na Pali Coast Park, a breathtaking wilderness area on the north shore of the island of Kaua`i, along 12 miles of undeveloped shoreline. It’s a trip you’ll never forget.

Voices Of Truth interviews those creating a better future for Hawai`i to discover what made them go from armchair observers to active participants in the hopes of inspiring viewers to do the same.
