STANDING STRONG ON SOVEREIGN SUNDAY
Participants Face Down State Police At Peaceful Gathering
HONOLULU - Hawai`i Department of Land & Natural Resources Officers threatened to arrest a group of about 30 Hawai`i Patriots today.
The activists were gathered to observe Sovereign Sunday, an annual vigil to mark the illegal over throw of Hawai`i's Queen and illegal occupation by the US.
Participants stood firm in the face of mass arrests.
At issue was the event being conducted without a permit.
But those attending did not feel they needed to get permission from the US to observe the illegal overthrow of their Kingdom.
The patriots declared victory after officers backed down, but not before confiscating tents.
