ALERT! - EMAIL PROVES ROBERT LINDSEY SUPPORTS TMT

Please forward this to all Hawaiians, our supporters & those planning to vote in Saturdayʻs Aug. 13th OHA elections.

We want to bring to your attention an email that is being circulated asking for support to re-elect OHA trustee Robert Lindsey, who has been absent from his full-time duties at OHA for over four months due to a stroke.

The author of the email is Hawai`i Island attorney Stephen Bess, who confirms Robert Lindseyʻs full support of building the Thirty Meter Telescope atop Mauna Kea.

Here is an excerpt of Mr Bessʻs email -

“…For instance, after careful consideration of the pros and cons of the TMT development on Mauna Kea, Bob [Lindsey] believes that the TMT on Mauna Kea can and should be permitted by Hawaiians and others working with TMT rather than opposing the development per se. He is steadfast in his belief that the TMT development be allowed to go forward and that doing is in keeping with Hawaiian's rich tradition of discovery and knowledge of the stars as well as provide a 1.2 billion boost to our Hawaii island economy….”

But it gets worse.

According to the Koho Pono Report Card put out by Ka Lahui Hawai`i Political Action Committee, Robert Lindsey received straight F’s on all important issues affecting the well-being of Hawaiians.

He voted to fund Kana`iolowalu or the Native Hawaiian Roll Commission which took thousands of names of Kanaka Maoli without their free, prior and informed consent.

He also voted YES to send a letter on behalf of OHA in support of the DOI Rule which does not provide any lands for a federally recognized Native Hawaiian tribe except for Kaho`olawe.

And he voted to spend over $33 million dollars of Hawaiian beneficiary money on various attempts to get US federal recognition.

If you are fed up with Robert Lindseyʻs ignoring the will of the people, including overwhelming opposition to TMT as well as OHAʻs support of desecration and cultural destruction atop Mauna Kea, and you want  a full-time trustee who will listen to you, vote Mililani Trask for Hawai`i Island OHA trustee this coming Saturday, August 13th.

Please also ask all of your `ohana and friends to Vote Mililani Trask for OHA.

Mahalo.
