In 2019, the City of Arcata, California removed the McKinley statue that had stood in their town square since 1906! 

They did it to be in solidarity with Native Americans and Hawaiians who suffered such maltreatment from McKinleyʻs policies. 

Arcata shipped the statue to Canton, Ohio, where McKinley is buried and his presidential library is located. 

We could do the same... or better yet, recast it into the image of a real Hawaiian hero.
