Plus Mauna Kea Is Back With Possible Funding & An Oversight Authority But What Will Mauna Kea Kia`i Like HULI Have To Say? Also What Role Does The Pacific Way Play,  A Progress Report At The UN For Hawaii & Our Popular “Kumu Hinaʻs Mana`o”

The April “Free Hawaii News” show airing tonight at 6 PM on `Olelo Television Channel 53 on O`ahu and online at FreeHawaiiNews.com reports on Lahaina fire survivors leaving Maui as promises for housing go unfulfilled.

“Itʻs now eight months after the fire and we go to Maui to see if promises that were made for housing by both governor Josh Green and Maui mayor Richard Bissen have been kept,” states Free Hawaii News co-host Hinaleimoana Wong. “Maui residents have become frustrated at the slow pace of recovery so we discover first hand what the situation is on the ground.”

We also travel to Hawaii Island to get a report on the role the new Mauna Kea Stewardship and Oversight Authority is playing as well as hear from the Maunaʻs kia`i or protectors, such as HULI, on how non-violent direct action has been successful in creating outcomes for kanaka as well as other indigenous peoples.

“Itʻs do or die time for funding for the Thirty Meter Telescope, so we have the background information for Free Hawaii News viewers on Mauna Kea,” remarks Free Hawaii News co-host Leon Siu.

We also explain how the Pacific Way puts all of this into the correct context, the latest progress at the UN for Hawaii and our very popular Kumu Hinaʻs Mana`o.
