For years, Alika Garcia was a fisherman on the ocean and during that time one thing kept bugging him. He realized that in fishing, he was taking from the ocean, but he was never giving anything back. And thatʻs how Kuleana Coral Restoration, a group of fishermen, surfers, and ocean advocates working to restore and protect Hawai`iʻs coral reefs, was born. As he told us, what happens to the fish in the ocean directly affects what happens to us.
