Can Tourism Benefit Hawaiians Rather Than Enrich Private Corporations?  Plus Our Pacific Way Segment Asks Who Should Own Land In Hawai`i. Also An Update On A New Path Forward For Hawaiians At The United Nations & A Surprise-Filled Kumu Hinaʻs Mana`o.

The September “Free Hawaii News” airing tonight, September 6th at
6 PM on `Olelo Television Channel 53 on O`ahu and online at FreeHawaiiNews.com reports on the latest details of the Red Hill Toxic plume and attempts to stop it from spreading.

“The Red Hill toxic plume is a new, surprise twist in the Red Hill water contamination disaster. No one at this point is exactly sure where or how far it will spread. No one is certain about how to stop it or even if thatʻs possible,” says Free Hawaii News co-host Leon Siu. “We have a full report on all of this from one of the O`ahu Water Protectors who gives us all the latest details.”

We also feature a special report with co-host Hinaleimoana Wong who interviews Kumu Ramsay Taum about a new approach to tourism in Hawai`i. “Can tourism actually benefit Hawaiians rather than enrich private corporations? What if we changed the paradigm from tourists to visitors? Those who want to come to Hawaii, stay with local residents in their homes rather than in hotels and learn what Hawaii is really all about?” remarks Free Hawaii News co-host Hinaleimoana Wong.

We also update on a new approach for Hawaiians at the United Nations and a Kumu Hinaʻs Mana`o segment which features surprise details of one of the other things Kumu Hina does.
