JUNE FREE HAWAII NEWS - CAN HAWAII SHOW THE WORLD HOW TO FEED ITSELF?

Will The United Nations Confront US Human Rights Violations In Hawaii? Plus How Lahaina Is Helping Residents Get Their Homes Rebuilt. Then, Whatʻs Even More Important Than Bloodline To Be A Leader In Hawaii? & Our Popular Kumu Hinaʻs Mana`o

The June 2025 “Free Hawaii News” debuting tonight airs at 7 PM on `Olelo Television Channel 53 on O`ahu, on all neighbor islands and also at FreeHawaiiNews.com

“Hawai`i currently imports ninety percent of its food which makes it highly dependent on the US and other parts of the world for survival. Yet before western contact in the mid 1700ʻs, Hawai`i grew all of its food with the population of the Hawaiian Islands being roughly the same as today. Now, thereʻs a movement to restore throughout Hawaii the system which produced that food sovereignty and experts from around the world are beginning to take notice. In our June Free Hawaii News we cover what that system is and how once again it can become operational,” states Free Hawaii News co-host Hinaleimoana Wong.

“Also in our June show we go to Maui to discover how Lahaina fire survivors will be able to successfully bridge significant financial gaps between the amount of their fire insurance settlements versus the actual cost of rebuilding their homes with the help and guidance of the Lahaina Community Land Trust.”

“Then we take a look at how the United Nations can confront and address longstanding US human rights violations here in Hawaii and the path to do so,” remarked Free Hawaii News co-host Leon Siu.

Plus we report on the one thing even more important than a Hawaiianʻs genealogy that could qualify them for leadership status, and we have a brand new segment of our ever popular Kumu Hinaʻs mana`o.
