SACRED PLACES OF ASTOUNDING HISTORY ON VOICES OF TRUTH - ONE-ON-ONE WITH HAWAI`I'S FUTURE
Have you ever had a place speak to you?
Many of us would say yes, and that place would be somewhere in Hawai`i, no doubt.
But then there are others for whom a place is so special, they feel compelled to become directly connected to it, to malama, (take care,) of it.
Such a person is Junior Kanuha.
Junior’s place is Keolonahihi in North Kona – a place of ancient learning and astounding history.
But rather than us tell you, we’ll let Junior do that in one of our brand new segments.
He’s yet another individual who’s doing his part to help ensure a better future for Hawai`i and we’ve got his story for you right here on Voices Of Truth – One-On-One With Hawai`i’s Future.

“Sacred Caretaker – A Visit With Junior Kanuha”
Every now and then we come across someone who feels the call of a place and is moved to do something about it.
Junior Kanuha, Kanaka Maoli (Native Hawaiian) with deep roots in North Kona, Moku o Keawe (Hawai`i Island) is just such a person.
Waterman, businessman, community activist and energetic supporter of all things Hawaiian, Junior’s made a personal commitment to cleaning up and caring for wahi pana kahiko, ancient sacred sites.
Keolonahihi in North Kona is the place he cares for – both figuratively and literally. Here’s the extraordinary part – no one asked him to.
Junior tells us he’s just following spiritual direction – he says he’s only the gardener, the caretaker, ka hapai opala, the guy who hauls off the trash.
Don’t miss Junior as he explains not only what he does but also why he does it, revealing along the way the history and significance of this extraordinary place of beauty and ancient history.
Voices Of Truth interviews those creating a better future for Hawai`i to discover what made them go from armchair observers to active participants in the hopes of inspiring viewers to do the same.
