WHO REALLY RUNS THE WORLD?
FIND OUT ON VOICES OF TRUTH - ONE-ON-ONE WITH HAWAI`I'S FUTURE

Did you ever stop and wonder who runs the world?

Like, who’s really in charge?

Many think they know. They’ll name powerful people in politics, finance, entertainment and the like.

But people don’t run the world – ideas do.

We’ve heard the phrase, “nothing’s so powerful as an idea whose time has come.”

Well, we present three individuals this week who know this very well.

Mikiala, Manu and Junior are all working at the grass-roots level and all three are possessed by powerful ideas that have something in common – giving back to the community and working towards a Free Hawai`i.

If you’ve ever said, “I wish I could do that too, but I don’t know how,” just watch this week as they show you how.

It’s a reminder that you don’t have to wait to be in a position of power to make a difference for a Free Hawai`i, you can make an impact with your ideas right now wherever you are.

Three who didn’t wait for someone to tell them to act – they just followed their ideas on Voices Of Truth – One-On-One With Hawai`i’s Future.

Programming Change Note - Voices Of Truth – One-On-One With Hawai`i’s Future is now seen across Hawai`i Island on Channel 53 on Na Leo.

“Kuleana Focus - A Visit With Mikiala Ayau-Pescaia”

If you've ever wondered why Moloka`i people are so special, here's your answer.

In Mikiala, we find one of those individuals who's an early achiever. As the Moloka`i coordinator for Na Pua No`eau, this young makuahine (woman) is a superb educator and academic culturalist.

We're sure it will be as obvious to you as it is to us how much she treasures her culture and how she puts those treasures to work each and every day.

Be sure and tune in for this one as Mikiala shares her gems of wisdom with us, and see for yourself how each of us can discover our own kuleana (area of responsibility) to create a better future for Hawai`i.

“Aloha Is Our Intelligence – A Visit With Manu Aluli Meyer”

“If knowledge is power, then understanding is liberation.”

Manu Myer is not your average educator - or human being for that matter.

Growing up as someone who was much better in the school yard than with school books, Manu quickly developed what few of her teacher’s saw – an incredible intellect and capacity for motivating others.

Today, Manu is in a class all by herself – as comfortable with Hawaiian epistemology and quantum physics as she is with her own ukulele.

Having just returned from a year in Aotearoa (New Zealand) packed with incredible adventures and experiences, she reveals not only what she learned, but why the people and `aina of that placed have so deeply affected her.

Be sure and sit your entire `ohana down and hear Manu as she reveals what quantum physics and indigenous culture have in common, as well as her vision of a Free Hawai`i few of us have ever imagined. We promise this is one Hawai`i Maoli wahine you’ll remember for a long time to come.

“Sacred Caretaker – A Visit With Junior Kanuha”

Every now and then we come across someone who feels the call of a place and is moved to do something about it.

Junior Kanuha, Kanaka Maoli with deep roots in North Kona, Moku o Keawe is just such a person.

Waterman, businessman, community activist and energetic supporter of all things Hawaiian, Junior’s made a personal commitment to cleaning up and caring for wahi pana kahiko, ancient sacred sites.

Keolonahihi in North Kona is the place he cares for – both figuratively and literally. Here’s the extraordinary part – no one asked him to.

Junior tells us he’s just following spiritual direction – he says he’s only the gardener, the caretaker, ka hapai opala, the guy who hauls off the trash.

Don’t miss Junior as he explains not only what he does but also why he does it, revealing along the way the history and significance of this extraordinary place of beauty and ancient history.
