STORM DELAYS SUPERFERRY RELAUNCH
Environmental Issues Continue To Show Fragility Of Superferry Success
Citing severe weather and surge conditions, the Superferry has delayed relaunch of its service between Oahu and Maui.
Superferry vessel Alakai was to have begun daily round-trip service Thursday.
Company officials say the new relaunch date is Dec. 13.
Hawai`i Department of Transportation is making repairs to Kahului Harbor's Pier 2 mooring bollards.
Superferry passengers who have booked travel between Thursday and Dec. 12 are being offered a refund or rebooking.
