Here's the #1 reason to oppose the ceded lands (read Stolen Lands) settlement being pushed by the Office Of Hawaiian Affairs.
OHA Staffer Jonathan Scheur was asked recently in a public meeting if some of the money awarded in the settlement would be used to support Kau Inoa, the registry of Native Hawaiians that many see as being directly connected to the Akaka Bill, which would effectively end all hopes of independence.
He replied some of it likely would.
