NOVEMBER FREE HAWAII NEWS - BREAKTHROUGH ON RECOGNITION OF THE HAWAIIAN KINGDOM

Plus Hawaiians Demand Representation In Expiring US Military Land Lease Negotiations, Also Why Was The Health of Hawaiians Linked To The Stability Of The Hawaiian Kingdom? Then What Inspired Us At The Hawaiian Councilʻs Convention In Tulalip, Washington And A New Kumu Hinaʻs Mana`o

The November 2025 “Free Hawaii News” debuting tonight Friday, November 7th airs at 7 PM on `Olelo Television Channel 53 on O`ahu, on all neighbor islands and also at FreeHawaiiNews.com

“In a special report from Nuku`alofa, Tonga, we announce a diplomatic breakthrough recognizing the Hawaiian Kingdom. Not only did the twelve member nations/territories of the Polynesian Leaders Group vote to accept Hawaii as its newest member, but they agreed to recognize the Kingdom of Hawaii rather than Hawaii as the fiftieth US state. This is a huge leap forward for the Hawaiian Islands and we expect others to follow,” states Free Hawaii News co-host Leon Siu.

“Then in our Pacific Way segment both co-host Hinaleimoana Wong and I report on our recent trip to Tulalip, Washington to attend the Hawaiian Councilʻs Native Hawaiian Convention. We  discuss what inspired us the most and report on the many different side events which made this convention so impactful.”

“Also on the November Free Hawaii News we cover the latest developments on US military use of Hawaiian Kingdom lands for war practice. In an historic unified statement, thirty-seven Hawaiian groups are demanding full oversight and representation in all upcoming negotiations of expiring US military land leases,” reports Free Hawaii News co-host Hinaleimoana Wong.

Plus we report and whatʻs behind the Office of Hawaiian Affairs attempt to revive a push for US federal recognition and we also interview Hawaiian historian Adam Keawe Manalo-Camp on why the health of Hawaiians was directly linked to the stability of the Hawaiian Kingdom, plus we feature a brand new Kumu Hinaʻs Mana`o segment.

“Jason Momoaʻs Chief Of War series airing on Apple TV is definitely a game changer. Itʻs already getting viewers everywhere to understand what kanaka maoli or Hawaiians went through during a time of vast change and upheaval. It showcases to the world that thereʻs an independent country called the Hawaiian Kingdom. We talk with Hawaiian educator and cultural specialist Kalehua Krug on the most important aspects of Chief Of War,” states Free Hawaii News co-host Leon Siu.

Also on the September Free Hawaii News co-host Leon Siu explains in his United Nations Update how the UN was fooled into thinking Hawaii is the fiftieth US state. “We have been educating UN members of Hawaiiʻs real history and how the claim that Hawaii became the fiftieth US state in 1959 was a sleight of hand. Itʻs been a real eye-opener for many and theyʻre now asking us how they can help correct this wrong,” reports Leon.

In her Kumu Hinaʻs Mana`o segment Free Hawaii News co-host Hinaleimoana Wong explains why Chief Of War was filmed in `Olelo Hawaii, then we go to Maui for an update on progress in rehousing Lahainaʻs residents & also how a tourist industry would be very different in a Hawaiian Kingdom.

“The Hawaiian Kingdom had its own problems with immigration but handled them very differently than the US under the Trump administration is doing today. We interview Hawaiian historian Adam Keawe Manalo-Camp for our August Free Hawaii News and what he told us is both eye-opening and amazing. Adam shares with us some little known facts about immigrants to Hawaii in the late 1800ʻs and we think our viewers will be quite surprised at what he discovered,” states Free Hawaii News co-host Hinaleimoana Wong.

“We also talk with Mana Kaleilani Caceres, who recently travelled to Belfast, Northern Ireland with others to repatriate iwi kupuna or Hawaiian ancestral bones, taken by a grave robber almost 200 years ago, back home. Mana shares with us the emotional and lasting impact of this experience.”

Also on the August Free Hawaii News co-host Leon Siu interviews long time sovereignty activist Pōkā Laenui about whether Hawaii and its people are ready for a coming deoccupation of the Hawaiian Islands by the US. “We ask Pōkā what plans are already in place to effect a smooth transition from foreign US rule to self-rule and how it all will work,” reports Leon.

We also feature a segment on who really owns the land in Hawaii and why Hawaii is part of Oceania and not North America.
