How is it that governmental programs designed to help Hawaiians donʻt deliver those results and actually keep them at the bottom of the economic barrel here in Hawai`i? These are just some of the questions we examine,” states Free Hawaii News co-host Hinaleimoana Wong.

Some are chosen while others come through lineage, circumstance, crisis or even calling. Hawaiian historian and writer Adam Keawe Manalo-Camp explains the difference between aboriginal and indigenous and how Hawaiians can be both at the same time. Both terms have caused a lot of confusion and using them accurately in defining our people is critically important.
And a new Kumu Hinaʻs Mana`o in which she shares openly about some of her own issues about her identity she had to work out over time.

Hinaleimoana Wong is a kumu hula, filmmaker, cultural activist, Hawaiian language speaker, preservationist and community leader. She has served in the past as a member of the O`ahu Island Burial Council.
Leon Siu has for many years served as Foreign Minister of the Hawaiian Kingdom. He is active in that role at the United Nations in both New York City and Geneva, Switzerland. Besides being a diplomat, he is also an award-winning musician, composer and political analyst.
