KOANI FOUNDATION DIRECTOR DELIVERS REMARKS IN BOSTON SUPPORTING BLACK LIVES MATTER

This last Tuesday June 23rd Koani Foundation Director Al Ku`ahi Wong delivered remarks at the 38th Annual Vincent Chin Memorial Vigil in Boston, Massachusetts.

He stated, "To everyone assembled here, please know that the Koani Foundation strongly supports Black Lives Matter.

"Members of Black Lives Matter stood with us atop Mauna Kea and now we stand with you.

"Furthermore many African American individuals played significant roles in the history of the Hawaiian Kingdom.

"I ask that we all continue to address civil rights and race relations issues, to continue to honor, love and work with everyone who has suffered the pains of injustice no matter who they are, the color of their skin, their political affiliations, sexual orientation, as we are all one in the eyes of Akua, Our Lord.

"There is an appropriate Hawaiian saying: "IMUA!" It means to go forward. Join me if you wish as I close my remarks by saying this three times..."IMUA!"

ITʻS FAR AWAY BUT HE WANTED TO STAY ON “VOICES OF TRUTH - ONE-ON-ONE WITH HAWAI`IʻS FUTURE”

"A Boston Hawaiian - A Visit With Al Ku`ahi Wong"

It was very far from Hawai`i when he first landed in Boston, but Ku`ahi knew for him it was home. And after discovering other Hawaiians in the area, he started Wahi Ku Moku - the Boston Hawaiian Club. But everything changed upon receiving a call from the late John “Butch” Kekahu in Anahola, Kaua`i asking him to help produce the now historic Aloha March of 1998. Soon after, Butch invited Ku`ahi to become a Koani Foundation director. Join us in our fascinating interview with Ku`ahi filmed on the National Mall in Washington, DC during the Ku`e Petitions Names Display Project and youʻll discover why all things Hawaiian are very much alive and well in the city of Boston - Watch It Here

NEW KOANI FOUNDATION WEBSITE ON VOICES OF TRUTH – ONE-ON-ONE WITH HAWAI`I’S FUTURE

There’s a brand new website – KoaniFoundation.org

There you’ll find information about the Koani Foundation, it’s mission, propose and goals, along with information about it’s founder and directors, videos and photos of the Aloha Marches and Boston Ti Party, Koani Foundation participation at the United Nations and much more.

Check it out at KoaniFoundation.org

Mahalo to everyone who voiced their support for Shelly Muneoka and her patriotic bravery in removing the 50th star from the American flag during last Augusts’ Hawai`i Fake State protest.

If you didn’t get a chance to see our interview with Shelly about her actions and everyone else’s reactions, catch it this week on Hawai`i’s award winning Voices Of Truth – One-On-One With Hawai`i’s Future.

MONDAY, January 25th At 6:30 PM
Maui – Akaku, Channel 53

MONDAY, January 25th At 7:00 PM & FRIDAY, January 29th At 5:30 PM Hawai`i Island – Na Leo, Channel 53
THURSDAY, January 28th At 8:30 PM & FRIDAY, January 29th At 8:30 AM - Kaua`i – Ho`ike, Channel 52
SATURDAY, January 30th At 8:00 PM O`ahu, `Olelo, Channel 53
“Star Power – A Visit With Shelly Muneoka”

It was baptism by fire - literally. She was the one photographed burning the 50th star after it was cut from the American flag in last year’s Hawai`i Fake State protest. And it’s no wonder. “I’ve felt strongly about Hawai`i’s independence my whole life,” Shelly says. It was her first act of protest, but certainly not her last. Watch and you’ll find out why - See It Here
