Itʻs no wonder they have thousands of course participants of all ages each year. "A Boston Hawaiian - A Visit With Al Ku`ahi Wong"

It was very far from Hawai`i when he first landed in Boston, but Ku`ahi knew for him it was home. And after discovering other Hawaiians in the area, he started Wahi Ku Moku - the Boston Hawaiian Club. But everything changed upon receiving a call from the late John “Butch” Kekahu in Anahola, Kaua`i asking him to help produce the now historic Aloha March of 1998. Soon after, Butch invited Ku`ahi to become a Koani Foundation director. Join us in our fascinating interview with Ku`ahi filmed on the National Mall in Washington, DC during the Ku`e Petitions Names Display Project and youʻll discover why all things Hawaiian are very much alive and well in the city of Boston - Watch It Here

FACTS DISCLOSED AS HAWAI`I THE FAKE STATE EXPOSED ON “VOICES OF TRUTH - ONE-ON-ONE WITH HAWAI`IʻS FUTURE”

The history books say Hawaiians and everyone else living in Hawai`i at the time voted overwhelmingly to become the fiftieth US state on August 21, 1959, fifty-two years ago today.

Yet nothing is further from the truth.

Actually only thirty-six percent of all eligible voters voted in the 1959 statehood vote. And yes, ninety-four percent of that thirty-six percent did vote for statehood.

But who were those voters? They were overwhelmingly Americans who had settled in Hawai`i to live, along with the US military and their family members.

The truth is, sixty-four percent of all eligible voters never voted at all.

And the vast majority of Hawaiians boycotted the vote entirely.

So a small minority voted for statehood, and those voters overwhelmingly were foreign settlers and the US military.

And ever since that tiny minority voted, the US imprint on Hawai`i has been large.

Amy Brinker is someone who has worked diligently to break that hold in one very big way - to legalize the sale of hand-pounded poi, the staple of Hawai`iʻs indigenous diet.

Hear her fascinating tale this week on
Hawai`i’s award winning Voices Of Truth – One-On-One With Hawai`i’s Future.

MONDAY, August 22nd At 5:30 PM O`ahu, `Olelo, Channel 53
MONDAY, August 22nd At 6:30 PM Maui – Akaku, Channel 53

“ Indigenizing The Law - A Visit With Amy Brinker”

When first year law student Amy Brinker moved from Galveston, Texas to attend the University of Hawai`i, she discovered to sell or even give away hand-pounded poi, the staple food of Hawaiians, was illegal. New to Hawai`i and not Hawaiian herself but wanting to make a difference, she did the only thing she could - she set out to change the law. Before long she found herself meeting with legislators who were asking her to craft a bill they could pass. Donʻt miss our interview with Amy as she tells the story of her fight to legalize hand pounded poi and the amazing changes she has now brought to all Hawai`i

A NEW LAW HER PASSION FASHIONS ON “VOICES OF TRUTH - ONE-ON-ONE WITH HAWAI`IʻS FUTURE”

Galveston Texas is a long way from Hawai`i, but thatʻs where Amy Brinker came from when she landed here on a trip through Polynesia.

But Hawai`iʻs as far as she ever got. She did what a lot of people do - fell in love with the place, the people and the culture.

But Amy did something else very few others like her actually do - she got involved.

When she discovered it was illegal to sell or even give away hand pounded poi, one of the healthiest foods Hawaiians or anyone can eat, she used her budding legal skills to get the law changed.

And thatʻs when we met her at the Manoa campus of University of Hawai`i. We quickly discovered her dedication and boundless energy to make things right when it comes to poi and Hawai`iʻs culture.

So donʻt miss our visit with Amy who, you will quickly see, is unlike any other soon-to-be attorney youʻve ever met in our brand new show all this week on
Hawai`i’s award winning Voices Of Truth – One-On-One With Hawai`i’s Future.

DEATH OF A DREAM BECAUSE OTHERS SCHEME ON “VOICES OF TRUTH - ONE-ON-ONE WITH HAWAI`IʻS FUTURE”

Keoki Fukumitsu always wanted to be a kalo farmer.

After all, thatʻs what he was trained to do from a child, since his ancestors had been growing kalo or taro on the same land from time immemorial.

But now Keokiʻs dream is in serious jeopardy as developers and others are now closing in to evict Keoki and his family off their ancestral lands - all because they stand to make millions through commercial development.

Keokiʻs life and story is an amazing one and he shares it with us in detail as what life as Kaloman is like, including threats of eviction he now faces.

Donʻt miss our fascinating visit with Keoki the Kaloman all this week on

HIS FARM MAY BE IN HARM ON “VOICES OF TRUTH - ONE-ON-ONE WITH HAWAI`IʻS FUTURE”

You would think Keoki Fukumitsu, who has dedicated his life to helping and serving others through farming and cultivation of kalo or taro, the staple Hawaiian diet, would receive some thanks and maybe even an award or two.

Instead, he and his family, who have been on their land for over seven generations farming taro, making poi and feeding others are now in danger of losing it all.

Developers and others are attempting to gain title to his land because itʻs worth money and lots of it.

Keoki looks at his land and sees the taro he grows through his own back breaking work which enables him to feed his family and others in the local community.

Developers and others look at his land and they see fistfuls of dollars.

When we heard what was going on we went out to meet Keoki and find out why they call him the “Kaloman.”

What we discovered amazed us - not only a real life picture of how itʻs been done for thousands of years, but also a prime example of how to create a sustainable Hawai`i for the future.

Donʻt miss our awe- inspiring visit Keoki the Kaloman, and why he really is one of Hawai`iʻs true heroes all this week on
