WILL HAWAIIANS RIGHT WRONG THROUGH VOTE ON INDEPENDENCE ?

The U.S. Justice Department knows that in 1898 the Congress of the United States made a grave mistake by attempting to annex Hawai`i by joint resolution 51.

They violated their own constitution and laws.

Hawaiians were not allowed to vote for or against annexation.

The U.S. Senate tried two times to pass a treaty of annexation of Hawai`i.

Twice it failed.

If they had allowed the majority of the citizens of the Kingdom of Hawai`i in 1898 to vote, it would have been an overwhelming "no."

The only way the U.S. government can right the wrong it inflicted on Hawaiians is to let those descendants of the citizens of the Hawaiian Kingdom decide if they want independent status or be part of the American system.

If Hawaiian Kingdom national descendants are not allowed to vote for the form of governance they prefer then the whole American democratic process is good for nothing.

WHAT CAN AMERICANS DO TO HELP HAWAI`I RECOVER ITS INDEPENDENCE ?

US Americans should start using critical thinking in resolving the Hawaiian issue.

If, in fact, the US is unlawfully occupying Hawai`i; logically it should deoccupy it.

One should become familiar with the laws of occupation to understand the issues.

One will also understand the folly of attempting to turn Hawaiians into American indians and tribes through federal recognition and what it seditiously represents.

The misrepresentation of the facts have been fostered on the US Americans and what has and is being done in their name.

Amid the myths and hoax lie documented facts with US admittance of misprison through covert and overt activities to destabilize the Hawaiian Kingdom, invasion, and takeover through a declaration among those involved, with the complicity of the USA and unbeknownst to the subjects of the Kingdom over a century ago.

This then took shape in a fake revolution to validate the nefarious actions spurred by the US government officials and their US American counterparts residing within the Hawaiian Kingdom.

WHO VOTED FOR HAWAI`I TO BECOME A U.S. STATE?

Wrong Question Asked Of The Wrong Population

The Maui News -
Thursday, May 24, 2007

Wendell Nakamura writes that "94 percent of the people of Hawai`i
voted yes to becoming the 50th state" in 1959 (Letters, May 18).

Fact
check - Only 22 percent of the population even voted in the so-called plebiscite for statehood. More importantly, though, are the questions of who was allowed to vote, and for what

Any U.S. citizen who had resided in the islands
for a year was allowed to vote, which included large numbers of American military servicemen and their families, who were essentially the occupation force that has held Hawaii since the purported annexation in 1898.

Imagine U.S. soldiers being allowed to vote in
Iraqi elections today! The question on the ballot was: "Shall Hawai`i immediately be admitted into the union as a state?" Yes or No?

Yet, the U.N. resolution
guiding the process for removal of territories from the List of Non-Self-Governing Territories under which Hawai`i was administered (Resolution 742) stated: "the manner in which Territories . . . can become fully self-governing is primarily through the attainment of independence."

Why was the option of independence not on the ballot in 1959?

But with the wrong question asked of the wrong population, even the
vote in 1959 was not a valid act of self-determination, and did nothing to legitimize the occupation or legally transfer Hawai`i's sovereignty to the United States.

ALOHA MAI KAKOU!
WELCOME IF YOU'RE VISITING FREEHAWAII.INFO FOR THE FIRST TIME!

Free Hawai`i means returning the Hawaiian Islands back to an independent nation status, as it was before it was illegally overthrown by US marines and rich sugar barons in 1893.

In 1993, President Clinton formally apologized for that act and publicly acknowledged the illegality of the overthrow.

DID YOU KNOW -
98% of all Hawaiians living at the time opposed the illegal overthrow!

Today, less than 20% of all land in Hawai`i is in Hawaiian hands.

Over 60% today is in non-Hawaiian hands!

A few individuals, who are non-Hawaiian, lease an amount of land in Hawai`i that is greater than all land leased to all Native Hawaiians!

Currently, only 72 landowners control 95% of all land in Hawai`i.

Native Hawaiians make up the largest percentage of homeless in Hawai`i today.

Native Hawaiians have the worst social, educational and economic indicators compared to any ethnic group in the US.

Native Hawaiians currently have the worst health profile compared to any ethnic group in the US.

Descendants of the Hawaiian Nation want their country and land back so they can grow their own foods, become healthy once again, and control their own destiny.

"Who Will Profit From The Akaka Bill?"

Why Are Certain People Trying So Hard To Get The Akaka Bill Passed?

Tuesday, May 15, 2007

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FEDERAL RECOGNITION AND A FREE HAWAI`I ?

A Free Hawai`i is a sovereign state with dominion, the right to join the UN, and fly it's own flag.

More important, independent states have a well-defined set of rights under international law, such as the right not to be invaded and belligerently occupied.

On the other hand, under federal recognition and the Akaka bill, Hawai`i would technically become a "captured nation," meaning that international law could not prohibit the US commencing aggression and total extermination of its indigenous Hawaiian population.

Even worse, Native recognition would be conditional only after extinguishment of Hawaiian Kingdom Citizenship political status (your right to exist.)

US law would not grant full autonomous self-rule and would in fact destroy territorial integrity which continues to exist right now, even as you read these words.

Why reject "native recognition" for a Free Hawai`i ?

Independence is a formal recognition of Hawai`i's territory and laws. It's subjects are not under US jurisdiction.

The Hawaiian Kingdom still has its own bill of rights, constitution and comprehensive complied laws.

Only by the assertion of our Dominion and Hawai`i Territorial Authority can we protect our beloved homeland with international support.

KNOWING OUR HISTORY & CREATING THE FUTURE ON VOICES OF TRUTH - ONE-ON-ONE WITH HAWAI`I'S FUTURE

Mahalo to everyone who responded about our brand new segment with Baron Ching, “The History Beneath Our Feet.”

Yes, Baron is indeed an inspiration and we’re glad all of you mentioned the two most important things that moved you most.

First, how amazed a lot of you are about the history of Hawai`i’s illegal overthrow all around you. Some of you remarked that you walk or drive past those places each day.

Second, Baron’s a great reminder that Hawai`i was indeed a multi-ethnic nation.

And that’s one big difference between a Free Hawai`i and the Akaka bill, which would take only Kanaka Maoli (native Hawaiians) and doom them to a life of deprivation as wards of the US federal government where even title to their lands would be held by the US.

Starting later this week, we’ll be reporting live each day from the United Nations in New York City on Free Hawai`i TV, a part of the Free Hawai`i Broadcasting Network.

The Koani Foundation is participating with other Native Hawaiian non-governmental organizations in articulating and addressing human rights, environmental, economic and social issues at the sixth annual Permanent Forum On Indigenous Issues.

HAWAIIANS SPEAK OUT AGAINST FEDERAL RECOGNITION

Akaka Bill Would Complete Theft Of Hawaiian Nation

"The Akaka Bill and Kau Inoa are a farce!...

...We object to the wording of the Bill which tries to further obfuscate the facts and their US puppet "governing entity" which has no power or clout nor jurisdiction to negotiate our lands, resources or our people's rights as Hawai`i nationals which our nation-state has.

The passage of the Akaka Bill will not deter us from seeking the US to deoccupy our country.

We seek justice and won't stop till we get it."

DO YOU THINK LIVES OF HAWAIIANS WOULD IMPROVE UNDER THE AKAKA BILL ?

Just look at these comments from the Senate Indian Affairs Committee March 11, 2003 letter to the Budget Committee justifying their budget request for fiscal year 2004.

"Native people in the U.S. continue to rank at or near the bottom of nearly every social, health and economic indicator as compared to all other citizens.

"Natives continue to suffer the highest rates of unemployment and poverty, live in substandard housing, have poor health, receive an inadequate education, and contend with disintegrating social systems, all of which erode both the quality and dignity of life in Native communities.

"Improving effectiveness in the Indian agencies is important but also recognizes that these agencies have witnessed a pattern of under-funding for decades and that, in part at least, increased resources are needed to alleviate the dire conditions in Native America and address the basic human needs Native people.

"The educational attainment for Native youth is deficient compared with other groups in the U.S. For example, Native youth receive fewer high school and college degrees.

"An aggravating factor in educational achievement is the continued inability of the Federal government to ensure adequate, safe and clean educational facilities conducive to learning.

"There is also unmet demand for electricity in Native communities: a recent Department of Energy report estimated that 14.2% of all Native homes on reservations have no access to electricity compared to just 1.4% of all U.S. households.

"With unemployment averaging 43% and poverty rampant, Native communities are particularly sensitive to high energy prices. Given the near-complete absence of a private sector in most Native communities, 31.2 % of Natives live in poverty.

"In the U.S. today, the unemployment rate is 5.8%, whereas the rate for Natives is near 50% - twice that of the national unemployment rate in the Great Depression.

"The earning capacity of Natives also lags behind that of other Americans - for every $100 earned by the average American family, an Indian family earns $62. The per capita income for Indians averages $8,284.

"Most striking are the health statistics involving Native people - diabetes, tuberculosis, alcoholism, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS) and increasingly, AIDS, plague Native communities at rates far and above the incidence for other Americans."

IS IT ANY WONDER MORE & MORE PEOPLE WANT THE ILLEGAL U.S. OCCUPATION OF HAWAI`I TO END?

Life Harder under U.S. Occupation

Native Hawaiians constitute roughly 20 per cent of the state population, but they represent 54 per cent of the prison population.

Not coincidentally, they also have the lowest per capita income, the highest poverty rate and the shortest lifespan of any ethnic group in Hawai`i.

Hawai`i public school students receive a very poor education by any standard of measurement. They consistently rank among the lowest of any state in test scores.

In the 1980s, Hawai`i gained the enviable reputation of providing medical insurance to the highest percentage of residents of any state.

A decade after the state ended dental cover, toothless smiles are commonplace among the poor. Tens of thousands of residents have no medical insurance at all.

Despite higher profits for many businesses, jobs are scarce and most of the available work pays minimum wage or close to it... In some cases, the lives of the working poor are worse than the unemployed.

Among other things, they don't qualify for state financial assistance or full food stamp benefits.

Today most of the Island of Hawai`i (Big Island) as well as the islands of Moloka`i, Lana`i and Kaua`i are economic wastelands with little opportunity to make a decent living.

On Kaua`i workers often share apartments or small houses with several other workers because rents are too expensive for one or two individuals to afford.

On every island married couples with children often work two jobs each to make ends meet - if they are fortunate enough to find that many jobs, even at minimum wage.

Hawai'i imports two-thirds of its food from the mainland and locally-grown food is expensive due to high land prices.

As one long-time resident commented: "Hawai`i is turning into one of those Caribbean tourist islands where you have fancy hotels and a tiny rich neighbourhood and the rest of the island is a shantytown of poverty and crime."

IF THE U.S. TREATS NATIVE AMERICANS LIKE THIS - CAN NATIVE HAWAIIANS BE FAR BEHIND ?

Here's What Noted Native American Activist Elouise Cobell Says -

Imagine a bank that took your money on a regular basis, never gave you a statement, had no idea how much was supposed to be in your account and argued it has no responsibility to return your money to you or provide you any information about your money.

Now imagine that same financial institution destroying the documents, lying in sworn statements and in court, and routinely defying court orders.

It doesn't take a lawyer to understand federal and state regulators would be padlocking the door to that bank and walking the bank's managers off to jail.

Well, there is such an institution, and it behaves exactly this way.

But it's not a bank. It's the U.S. government.

The only difference here is the managers are never held to account for their theft and fraud.

Since 1887, the government has been taking proceeds from land owned by individual American Indians, including oil and gas, forestry, minerals and other leasing in which resources are extracted from Indian land.

That money is supposed to be held in trust and paid to the American Indian beneficiaries on a timely basis.

But the money is gone, and the government refuses to account for it - despite court orders that say they must.

These are not mere allegations. These are facts. We've proven them in court in the individual Indian trust case.

Although the government has lost four separate times at trial, it still refuses to do the right thing. Instead, officials have been slapped with repeated contempt citations and other court sanctions, including shutting down the Department of Interior's Web site because it left the trust account open to tampering.

After more than eight years of litigation, not a single individual Indian beneficiary has ever received an accounting. Not one!

Tragically, more and more of my fellow beneficiaries die without ever seeing justice done.

A century of mismanagement continues today - mismanagement that has annually robbed hundreds of millions of dollars from individuals and their families.

HOW DID HAWAIIANS BECOME OUTCASTS IN THEIR OWN LAND ?

Here's What The History Books Won't Tell You -

Western diseases, to which Hawaiians had no immunity, decimated their numbers. At the time of western contact, some 300,000 people inhabited the Hawaiian Islands.

By 1805 that number had been halved.

By 1853 there were only 71,000 Hawaiian or part-Hawaiian people in the islands.

Within 100 years of western contact, the Hawaiian population had been reduced by nearly 90 percent.

According to the 2000 census, the numbers of people who claim some native Hawaiian ancestry have increased to over 400,000. But only 239,000 live in Hawai`i and they are the poorest, most locked-up population in the state.

Although they only make up about 20 percent of the state's population, in June 2001 they made up 39 percent of the state's prison population, according to the state Department of Public Safety.

Sadly, they make up 37 percent of the state's homeless population.

HISTORY BENEATH OUR FEET ON VOICES OF TRUTH - ONE-ON-ONE WITH HAWAI`I'S FUTURE

As you probably know, the Akaka bill sailed through committees in both the US Senate and House this past week.

It’s purposefully structured so that Hawaiians do not have to participate in any meaningful way for it to become law.

Rather, the Akaka bill is designed to be imposed on Hawaiians.

Adding insult to injury is the fact that while Senator Byron Dorgan chairs the Senate Indian Affairs Committee, he left Thursday morning’s hearing after only a few minutes and turned the meeting over to Senator Akaka to run.

Has there ever been a more clear-cut case of the fox guarding the henhouse?

Should the Akaka bill pass, Hawaiians would own no land at all – the US federal government would hold all Hawaiian land in trust.

That’s right - legal title to Hawaiian lands would be vested in the US Federal government and not you.

It’s becoming increasingly clear the more people know about this legislation, the less they like it.

Someone who knows this and a whole lot more is Baron Ching.

Baron, a descendant of Hawaiian Kingdom Nationals, is an ardent supporter of a Free Hawai`i.

Because of his non-stop research, he knows the smallest details about Hawai`i’s illegal overthrow.

Baron showed us clearly that practically wherever we set foot in Honolulu, we’re standing in a place of significant history as it relates to our Queen and the Hawaiian Kingdom.

So join us this week for yet another brand new segment sure to increase your understanding of the past and what effect it has on everyone’s future, right here on Voices Of Truth – One-On-One With Hawai`i’s Future.

HAWAIIANS CONTINUE TO SPEAK OUT AGAINST THE AKAKA BILL

Dr. Kekuni Blaisdell, an advocate of native Hawaiian independence, said the bill attempts to describe native Hawaiians as indigenous to the United States.

"But we are not indigenous to the United States. We are a separate people. We are a nation that was invaded," he said.

Ikaika Hussey, who represents Hui Pu, a coalition of native Hawaiians who oppose the Akaka Bill, said, "The bill would not accomplish its stated goal, which is to protect Hawaiian rights, and what it will do is erode existing rights."

WANT TO KNOW WHAT THE MAJORITY OF HAWAIIANS THINK ABOUT THE AKAKA BILL?

"Many of us Hawaiians who oppose the Akaka Bill do so because of the how this bill is being pushed/imposed upon us.

The continuous violations -

No Public Hearings.

Closed Hearings/Testimony by Invitation Only.

False Claims of Majority Support for the Akaka Bill by Hawaiians...

...It serves not the Hawaiian people, but the oppressors and their cohorts of our social and economic enslavement.

This bill - and those pushing it - is no less than a perversion of justice...

As it has happened to us many times in the past, when it comes to acts/policies/laws that affect us Hawaiians, no one asks us what we think or want.

It is forced upon us,written into text that we Hawaiians wanted such nonsense..."

HAWAIIANS OPPOSED TO FEDERAL RECOGNITION

Native Hawaiian Group Submits Thousands Of Signatures With Testimony to US Senate

May 2, 2007

Aloha Mai Kakou, greetings from Hawai`i,

Please accept the attached record of signatures from the Hawaiian community as a record of evidence that we Hawaiians do not desire the Akaka Bill.

The Akaka Bill has been forced upon us by certain powerful individuals and agencies against our will.

We Hawaiians have never had input on the Akaka Bill as its creators and author never held island-wide public hearings or education on the Bill.

This can only be described as un-democratic and un-American.

The Hawaiian people reject the Akaka Bill because we were not part of its creation nor did we have any say whatsoever in its content.

The Akaka Bill was drafted by a non-Hawaiian from Washington DC and at this present time the Bill is being discussed and debated by non-Hawaiians while those whom the Bill affects are left off to the side as if we don't exist.

This is insulting and dehumanizing to Hawaiians.

What about us? Do we not have a say in our own self-determination?

Where is the honor and integrity that America was founded upon? Has this been forgotten?

There is absolutely no concrete proof that even a majority of Hawaiians desire the Akaka Bill, neither for our future nor as an acceptable solution for reconciliation and justice.

Ask Senators Akaka and Inouye, “where is the concrete proof that Native Hawaiians desire the Akaka Bill?”

The sad truth is, there is none.

Please oppose the Akaka Bill as it is a disgrace to Hawaiian self-determination and American democracy.

Sincerely,

Andre Perez

"Where's The Reconciliation?"

What Does The Akaka Bill Really Provide?

Tuesday, May 01, 2007

Hawai`i Was A Free Nation - But Never Free For The Taking!
