OFFICE OF HAWAIIAN AFFAIRS TO CREATE MORE HOMELESS
The Office Of Hawaiian Affairs will actually be putting Hawaiians and others on the street creating more homelessness in Hawai`i.
In 2010, their plans to spend millions of beneficiary dollars to build new headquarters in Kakaako include the demolition of a former warehouse now used to shelter the homeless near Point Panic on O`ahu.
How does spending more beneficiary money on themselves and putting people on the streets contribute towards serving Hawaiians?

ALOHA MAI KAKOU!
WELCOME IF YOU'RE VISITING FREEHAWAII.INFO FOR THE FIRST TIME!
Free Hawai`i means returning the Hawaiian Islands back to an independent nation status, as it was before it was illegally overthrown by US marines and rich sugar barons in 1893.
In 1993, President Clinton formally apologized for that act and publicly acknowledged the illegality of the overthrow.
DID YOU KNOW -
98% of all Hawaiians living at the time opposed the illegal overthrow!
Today, less than 20% of all land in Hawai`i is in Hawaiian hands.
Over 60% today is in non-Hawaiian hands!
A few individuals, who are non-Hawaiian, lease an amount of land in Hawai`i that is greater than all land leased to all Native Hawaiians!
Currently, only 72 landowners control 95% of all land in Hawai`i.
Native Hawaiians make up the largest percentage of homeless in Hawai`i today.
Native Hawaiians have the worst social, educational and economic indicators compared to any ethnic group in the US.
Native Hawaiians currently have the worst health profile compared to any ethnic group in the US.
Descendants of the Hawaiian Nation want their country and land back so they can grow their own foods, become healthy once again, and control their own destiny.

SUPERFERRY SNUBBED IN MAUI HARBOR IMPROVEMENTS
Move Leaves Ship Officials Adrift & Embarrassed
Kahului Harbor will be getting a facelift in an $118 million improvement bill by Gov. Linda Lingle.
The State Legislature approved a revenue bond of $124 million earlier this year to help improve harbors statewide.
Much to the chagrin of Hawai`i Superferry CEO Thomas Fargo however, the bill does not include money to build a protected dock for his much-maligned vessel.
Currently using a docking barge that has a propensity for dislodging itself in a heavy winter swell, the Superferry was forced to cancel services for a number of weeks last year and may have to do the same this coming winter.

Last month, the Superferry carried only 29% of its passenger load, according to USA Today.

- Inter-island air fares doubling in price.
- Elimination of Aloha Airlines.
- Smoother summer-time ocean conditions.

HAWAI`I CON-CON WANTS YOU ON VOICES OF TRUTH - ONE-ON-ONE WITH HAWAI`I'S FUTURE
If you’re like so many who are fed up with the Office Of Hawaiian Affairs attempts to control and manipulate the creation of a new Hawaiian nation, we’ve got some good news.
Long time Hawaiian patriot Bumpy Kanahele is calling for a constitutional convention, whereby the people will decide their own future in order to build a Free Hawai`i.
This grass roots, from the bottom up process, is open to people of all races.
As Bumpy reminds us, it’s a national thing, not a racial one.
Contrast that with the Akaka bill, which would only include those of fifty percent or more Hawaiian blood.
Watch Free Hawai`i TV this coming Wednesday for all the exciting details, but if you want a head start, go to BumpyKanahele.com to learn more.
We’re proud to be a part of Bumpy’s effort to ensure that the people’s voices are heard.
And if you support our issues on the Free Hawai`i Broadcasting Network, please email this to a friend and see below how you can help us continue our work.
By the way, we’re told a brand new shipment of UnKau Inoa t-shirts have arrived but you better get yours fast as they are flying off the shelves and won’t last long.
Call (808) 295-1483 to get your UnKau Inoa shirt today.
People power is what’s it’s all about and we’ve got it for you this week here on Voices Of Truth Voices Of Truth – One-On-One With Hawai`i’s Future.
MONDAY, June 23rd At 7:00 PM & FRIDAY, June 27th At 5:30 PM – Hawai`i Island – Na Leo, Channel 53
SATURDAY, June 28th At 8:00 PM – O`ahu - `Olelo, Channel 53
“Kukulu Kumu Hana O Punalu`u – A Visit With Sheryl Waimakalani Iona”
“We don’t say no, we just say come.”
With those words Kukulu Kumu Hana O Punalu`u, a two week residential summer cultural immersion program for children of Ka`u district on Hawai`i island was born.
Kukulu kumu hana, which means to pool one’s thoughts to solve common problems, brings children down to the beach at Punalu`u to discover who they are and their connection to the `aina.
Started by the late Keola Hanoa, Sheryl Iona stepped in after her cousin’s passing. She had big shoes to fill, but for Sheryl, that was no problem at all.
She tells us, “We share with them who we see they’ll become. They always end up being it, having pride in themselves, their culture and their ancestors.”
Participants now come from all over the island, even foster children, to learn respect, values, commitments and to malama (care for) each other and the `aina.
With the original students now acting as teachers, the circle keep growing as participants learn the cultural importance of cleaning the land, planting, and rising early each morning, chanting to greet the sun.
You’ll be as moved as we were in our amazing visit with Sheryl as she shares with us the secret of her success - “We love these children no matter what and see them as they are. In the end, they always leave feeling good about themselves and their future.”
MONDAY, June 23rd At 6:30 PM – Maui – Akaku, Channel 53
“Hale Halawai – Monument To Activists – A Visit With Soli Papakihei Niheu”
People were concerned about longtime Hawaiian political activist Soli Papakihei Niheu.
In poor health and living in an old one-room structure in Waimea, his friends knew he needed something better.
So they decided to act. They collected contributions, both money and materials, and soon had enough resources to build him a new house.
That’s when Soli stepped forward to let them know he didn’t want a house.
Instead he wanted the one thing missing in Hawai`i that’s common throughout most other islands in the Pacific - a hale halawai.
Similar to the Maori marae in Aotearoa, (New Zealand,) hale halawai is a formal meeting place to receive and host visitors from far and wide, through Hawaiian protocol and hospitality.
Soli saw his hale halawai as a place to host sovereignty movement activists from all over Te Moana Nui – The Polynesian Triangle.
Because Soli had dedicated his life to serving others, they knew they now had to do the same thing for him.
So they built it for him.
In our moving and highly inspirational visit with Soli, you’ll hear him tell his story and see the pictures for yourself of how his hale halawai became reality. Surviving two earthquakes and many other challenges, Soli persevered in his vision of having both a monument to his heroes, the early pioneers of the sovereignty movement, as well as a place for today to teach the young.
THURSDAY, June 26th At 8:30 PM & FRIDAY, June 27th At 8:30 AM – Kaua`i – Ho`ike, Channel 52
“The Health Of Our Nation – A Visit with Dr. Kawika Liu”
It’s no secret the health of Hawaiians today needs to vastly improve.
But what some people may still be unaware of is how it got this way.
Dr. Kawika Liu, a Native Hawaiian pediatrician, sees the answers on a daily basis.
Kawika knows that the health of the people is directly tied to the health of the `aina, and the `aina’s health is tied to the health of the Nation.
On Molokai Dr. Liu witnesses first hand how the continued illegal U.S. occupation of Hawai`i has impacted it’s residents, including, most importantly, Hawai`i’s keiki.
While that may seem far-fetched to some, Kawika talks about the direct physical effects, what caused them and how a Free Hawai`i is such a large part of the solution.
Hear it firsthand from this fiercely dedicated and knowledgeable medical expert who knows, along with his moving description of what a truly healthy Hawai`i and it’s people could be like.
Voices Of Truth interviews those creating a better future for Hawai`i to discover what made them go from armchair observers to active participants in the hopes of inspiring viewers to do the same.

FEDERAL RECOGNITION OR A FREE HAWAI`I?
A Hawai`i National Speaks -
Unfortunately, many of we, Hawai`i nationals, are against the seditious Akaka Bill, its intentions and wording.
What we really want is for the US to de-occupy our country and leave Hawai`i.
We don’t want them or their military here; we never did.
Why is it that US Americans don’t want to hear it - they didn’t listen in 1893, 1897, 1959, or now?
It seems US Americans rather believe in the lies and the made-up myths rather than the truth.
This is why we can identify with the Iraqis, Native Americans, and all those living in belligerent occupied nations.
Shame and dishonor has been the hallmark of the USA for over two hundred years.
Why would it change?

SUPERFERRY LOBBIES FOR MILITARY BUSINESS
The Hawai`i Superferry has spent $210,000 since last summer to lobby for federal money to install features on its second high-speed catamaran to make it more attractive for military use.
The Superferry paid Blank Rome LLC, a prominent law and lobbying firm, to try to obtain federal money through the National Defense Features program to cover the cost of improvements to its second catamaran under construction at the Austal USA shipyard in Mobile, Ala.
The defense program covers the installation of militarily useful features on commercial ships if the owners agree to make the ships available to the military during emergencies.
The Superferry also may eventually retrofit the Alakai, which is now in commercial passenger and cargo service between O`ahu and Maui, with a vehicle ramp and other improvements.
The improvements to the catamarans, if completed, would make the vessels self-sustaining and better suited for military assignments here and abroad. The second ferry is scheduled for delivery next February.
John Lehman, a Superferry investor and former secretary of the Navy, and a Superferry executive told Pacific Business News in March 2005 of the ferry's potential to move the Army's Stryker brigade and other military equipment between O`ahu and the Big Island.

OFFICE OF HAWAIIAN AFFAIRS CONTINUES RECKLESS SPENDING
Hawaiian Beneficiary Dollars Spent To Push Occupiers Agenda
Holland & Knight has been hired by the Office of Hawaiian Affairs to lobby for the Akaka bill, which would impose federal recognition.
Acting lobbyists are former Sen. Ben Nighthorse Campbell (R-Colo.) and David Devendorf, a former staffer to Campbell.
Meanwhile another Capitol Hill lobbying firm, Patton Boggs, said their 2005 growth was partly attributable to a contract with the Office of Hawaiian Affairs.
OHA paid Patton Boggs $400,000 over six months, making it the firm's fifth largest client, said spokesman Brian Hale.

AKAKA BILL WARNINGS!
Lakota Tribe Member Proclaims, "That Is Not True Sovereignty"
John Gates, a member of the Lakota Nation who has moved to Hawai`i to help the Reinstated Hawaiian Nation, warned those assembled against ongoing efforts to dismantle the independence movement.
He pointed to the state’s current legal efforts to regain control of the so-called “ceded lands” following a state Supreme Court ruling the state could no longer sell or transfer those lands, and the federal government’s attempts to push through the Akaka Bill, which would give Hawaiians the same status as Native Americans.”
“That’s the farthest thing that you want, that model,” said Gates, noting that on his reservation, there’s 70 to 80 percent unemployment and the infant mortality rate is several times higher than the national average.
“We’ve lived with the treaty process that have been broken since 1868 and that’s what’s coming your way.
“Don’t let anyone foist a creation of Congress upon you,” he said. “That is not true sovereignty.”

CEDED LANDS SLEIGHT OF HAND ON VOICES OF TRUTH - ONE-ON-ONE WITH HAWAI`I'S FUTURE
We’ve received more than a few inquires about the ongoing ceded lands issue.
What exactly are they, who owns them, who, if anyone, has the right to control or sell them, and where did they originally come from?
All of this of course results from the recent Hawai`i supreme court decision preventing the Office Of Hawaiian Affairs attempt to sell some ceded lands for pennies on the dollar.
Now Hawai`i state attorney general Mark Bennett is appealing all the way to the US supreme court to get that decision overturned.
But here’s where it gets really interesting – twenty-nine states in the US have filed friend of the court briefs supporting Mark Bennett’s position.
Why would they do that? What’s the connection, and what do they all stand to lose should the US supreme court refuse to hear the case or uphold the Hawai`i supreme court decision?
Watch Free Hawai`i TV this coming Wednesday for answers.
We’ll explain exactly what ceded lands are as well as why those 29 states are so interested in OHA and Mark Bennett getting their way, and what you can do that will make a difference.
And if you support our issues on the Free Hawai`i Broadcasting Network, please email this to a friend and see below how you can help us continue our work.

MONDAY, June 16th At 7:00 PM & FRIDAY, June 20th At 5:30 PM – Hawai`i Island – Na Leo, Channel 53
MONDAY, June 16th At 6:30 PM – Maui – Akaku, Channel 53

SUPERFERRY RUNNING ON EMPTY
How Long Can It Last?
KAHULUI — The Hawai`i Superferry’s 350-foot Alakai operated at less than a third of its capacity in May, its first full month of operations, members of the Hawai`i Inter-Island Ferry Oversight Task Force were told Friday.
Terry O’Halloran, Superferry director of business development, said the high-speed ferry hosted 21,882 passengers and 6,003 cars in May. However, that is only 29 percent of the ferry’s capacity.
Those figures average out to about 250 people and 70 vehicles per voyage, well below the ferry’s capacity of 866 people and 282 vehicles per trip.

NEW BOOK DETAILS SUPERFERRY FIASCO
THE SUPERFERRY CHRONICLES is the first book to describe an historically unique, spontaneous, leaderless uprising in the Hawaiian islands.
As the story unfolds, we see this project riding on a wave of deception and corruption from the governors office, to the federal government, to the military, to the Hawai`i Superferry corporation.
On Kaua`i, citizens took to surfboards and effectively blocked the vessel from entering the harbor.
THE SUPERFERRY CHRONICLES is a story of personal and political empowerment thousands of Hawai`i's people from all parts of the community taking part in an unprecedented showdown against the latest expression of a centuries-old corporate-tourist-military intrusion into the Hawaiian way of life, landscape, and local sovereignty.

SUPERFERRY COVER-UP
Lingle Administration Sinks To New Lows
Hawai`i state lawmakers had asked the Lingle administration officials last year to disclose what, if any, legal advice they received before they exempted the Superferry from environmental impact laws in February 2005.
The administration would not discuss the matter, claiming attorney-client privilege.
Lawmakers wanted the information to determine whether the Lingle administration considered the legal risks before issuing the exemption.
The state Supreme Court ruled unanimously last August the exemption was an error, a decision that led to further court challenges and public protests that halted ferry service.
Gov. Linda Lingle signed a bill passed in a special session of the state Legislature that allowed ferry service to resume while a statewide environmental review is completed.
But documents released under the open-records law have shown there was significant debate within the administration about an environmental review and explicit warnings by staff of the legal and public-relations consequences of exempting the project.
Rep. Marucs Oshiro, an attorney, said he does not see any justification for the administration to withhold a legal analysis of whether an exemption was warranted, or discussions about strategy related to an environmental review, because of attorney-client privilege.
He said, since the decision itself has been ruled an error by the Supreme Court and is no longer the subject of any Superferry lawsuits, the only reason for the administration to withhold the documents is to avoid embarrassment.

IS YOUR NAME BEING USED? ON VOICES OF TRUTH - ONE-ON-ONE WITH HAWAI`I'S FUTURE
You certainly didn’t wait around.
We heard from so many this last week expressing your intention to “UnKau” yourselves – remove your names from the Kau Inoa list.
Your outrage at the Office Of Hawaiian Affairs for their duplicity and double dealing with Kau Inoa and what they really intend to use it for to support the Akaka bill, was more than most of you could take.
We’re told that UnKau Inoa T-Shirts are literally flying off the shelves.
So spread the word – tell everyone you know who signed on to Kau Inoa they can UnKau - get their names off.
But that’s not all – Hawaiian Nationals are taking both their identity and their land back.
Hawaiian patriots on Kaua`i recently did something utterly remarkable stopping rich foreigners in their tracks.
We’ll tell you exactly what that was this coming Wednesday on Free Hawai`i TV. Don’t miss it.
If you support our issues on the Free Hawai`i Broadcasting Network, please email this to a friend and see below how you can help us continue our work.
Remember, Voices Of Truth now airs on Maui on a brand new day – Mondays at 6:30 PM on Akaku, channel 53.

“Continuing The Quest – A Visit With Earl Louis”
Living his entire life of 43 years in Punalu`u, on Hawai`i Island, Earl has seen a lot of changes.
Located in the district of Ka`u, he tells us Punalu`u sees more development and tourists practically every day.
A fierce advocate for preserving the last uninhabited coastline on Hawai`i Island, Earl knows both the good and bad news - Punalu`u is not only beautiful but easily accessible.
“Why should we cater to people who want to destroy this land with more resorts and condominiums?”
That’s the question Earl confronts on a daily basis.
Fertilizers from resort golf courses flow to the ocean, killing off the limu (seaweed) that is food for both the fish and Hawksbill turtle that come to nest on Punalu`u beaches and lay their eggs.
Earl’s mission of trying to save the entire eighty-mile coastline might seem daunting to some.
To him, it’s simply what must be done.
Join us in our amazing visit with Earl and you’ll experience what we did - a humble man whose words stay with you a very long time - “This is what the ancestors left for us thousands of years ago. We need to educate our visitors. They don’t know how special and sacred this `aina is. Development is not the only answer.”
Voices Of Truth interviews those creating a better future for Hawai`i to discover what made them go from armchair observers to active participants in the hopes of inspiring viewers to do the same.

HOW DID HAWAIIANS BECOME OUTCASTS IN THEIR OWN LAND ?
Here's What The History Books Won't Tell You -
Western diseases, to which Hawaiians had no immunity, decimated their numbers. At the time of western contact, some 800,000 people inhabited the Hawaiian Islands.
By 1805 that number had been halved.
By 1853 there were only 71,000 Hawaiian or part-Hawaiian people in the islands.
Within 100 years of western contact, the Hawaiian population had been reduced by nearly 90 percent.
According to the 2000 census, the numbers of people who claim some native Hawaiian ancestry have increased to over 400,000. But only 239,000 live in Hawai`i and they are the poorest, most locked-up population in the state.
Although they only make up about 20 percent of the state's population, in June 2001 they made up 39 percent of the state's prison population, according to the state Department of Public Safety.
Sadly, they make up 37 percent of the state's homeless population.

WHO REALLY OWNS LAND TODAY IN HAWAI`I ?
Land Titles Issued Today Are Very Much In Doubt -
"Clear Title," regarding legitimate legal ownership of land in Hawai`i is a topic quickly becoming an issue in the political and commercial areas.
With more lands being "quiet titled" in the courts with the aid of foreign laws (USA and state of Hawai`i) illegally imposed against the rightful and legal owners of these lands with a judicial system aiding and abetting in these crimes, it's no wonder developers are eager to build hundreds of new luxury homes on La`au Point on Molokai and elsewhere.
To this day, land titles in Hawai`i continue to carry the original "royal patent" from the Mahele of 1848.
If The US Government or state of Hawai`i and their citizens rightfully have "clear title" to these lands, then why has the US patent not replaced the royal patents as was done in 49 other states?
Answer - Each royal patent has been "adjudicated," making them all a legal decree. When purchasing land, a "warranty deed" is issued instead, not clear title per se.
It's no different than if someone steals your car and attempts to sell it to someone else - they can't convey the "pink slip" to the new owner because they never had it in the first place - they're simply selling stolen property.
That's Why There Is No Clear Title To Land In Hawai`i

"TAKE MY NAME OFF!" ON VOICES OF TRUTH - ONE-ON-ONE WITH HAWAI`I'S FUTURE
Mahalo to all who have contacted us this past week asking how you can remove your names from the Office Of Hawaiian Affairs’ Kau Inoa registry.
The volume of requests didn’t surprise us at all, given more and more people now recognize Kau Inoa as a sham designed from the start to use its signers as supposed supporters of the Akaka bill, despite OHA’s continued denials.
It’s your classic bait and switch tactic.
Some enterprising Hawai`i National patriots have come up with a way for the many who now regret signing on to get their names off, and in so doing have created one of the most popular causes in Hawai`i today.
Watch Free Hawai`i TV this coming Wednesday for all the exciting details, and how you can be a part.
If you support our issues on the Free Hawai`i Broadcasting Network, please email this to a friend and see below how you can help us continue our work.
We have another new show this week focusing on one of Hawai`i’s most significant problems – the health of our people, with Kanaka Maoli (native Hawaiians) especially at risk.
Native physician Kawika Liu knows this all too well.
Seeing the effects of an illegal occupation on his own people, he has every right to be discouraged.
Instead Kawika describes for us what the health of everyone could be like in a Free Hawai`i. We’ll tell you right now Kawika’s vision of the future is exciting, bright and filled with possibilities.
Remember, Voices Of Truth now airs on Maui on a brand new day – Mondays at 6:30 PM on Akaku, channel 53.
Whether it’s your family’s well-being or the health of our Nation, you’ll find it right here, as always, on Voices Of Truth Voices Of Truth – One-On-One With Hawai`i’s Future.

“Keeping The Old Ways Alive – A Visit With Kumu John Keola Lake”
A true living legend, Kumu John Lake, who passed away recently, lived his heritage.
For more than four decades he shared his knowledge of Hawaiian language, hula and chant. And he did it with a geniality that drew people to him, that makes you recall the kupuna of old.
Because of his deep love for the culture, it came out in his personality, the way he taught and shared information. He made you want to be informed and live it that way yourself.
Why then is it so important to bring the knowledge of the past to the present? What messages do our ancestors have waiting for us to learn today?
Join us in our visit with Kumu Lake, an incomparable wellspring of knowledge who made a priceless impact on so many, as he shows us why the lessons of old are the keys to success for our Nation today.
