HAWAIIANS GET LESS JUSTICE UNDER US OCCUPATION OF HAWAI`I
Are Kanaka Maoli, those of Hawaiian blood, getting a fair shake under the illegal US occupation of Hawai`i? Statistics show that 40% of all prisoners in Hawai`i are Native Hawaiians.
A blind-folded lady is the symbol of justice in the US, but a study by a non-profit group shows that justice is not blind towards Native Hawaiians.
A study by the justice policy institute in Washington DC suggests that Native Hawaiians are more likely to be sent to prison and for longer periods of time than other ethnic communities.
The study also found that Native Hawaiians don't use drugs more than other races, but go to prison more for drug offenses.
According to the report, half of people serving prison terms in Hawai`i are housed in mainland facilities. Statistics show broken families, isolated by incarceration, often perpetuate the cycle.
In Hawai`i, 50 percent of youth in juvenile facilities are Native Hawaiian.
The number of Native Hawaiians in the women's correctional facility is as high as 85%.

NATIVE HAWAIIANS GET LESS JUSTICE UNDER US OCCUPATION
Are Native Hawaiians getting a fair shake under the US occupation? New numbers show that 40% of all prisoners in Hawai`i are Native Hawaiians, and the Office of Hawaiian Affairs (OHA) says that's no coincidence.
A blind-folded lady is the symbol of justice in the US, but OHA says a study by a non-profit group shows that justice is not blind towards Native Hawaiians....
But, a new study by the justice policy institute in Washington DC suggests that Native Hawaiians are more likely to be sent to prison and for longer periods of time than other ethnic communities....
The study also found that Native Hawaiians don't use drugs more than other races, but go to prison more for drug offenses. Richard Naiwieha Wurdeman says he's seen it during his 17 years representing Native Hawaiian defendants.
"Our society can't stand for such disparate treatment" said Wurdeman.
According to the report, half of people serving prison terms in Hawai`i are housed in mainland facilities. Statistics show broken families, isolated by incarceration, often perpetuate the cycle. In Hawai`i, 50 percent of youth in juvenile facilities are Native Hawaiian....

SOLVING WHAT AILS HAWAIIAN MALES ON VOICES OF TRUTH – ONE-ON-ONE WITH HAWAI`I’S FUTURE
Having been in drug enforcement and social work over the years, Ed Gomes thought he’d seen it all.
That is, until he was invited to go along on a trip – to a prison in Arizona where Hawaiians were incarcerated far from home.
As you might expect, discovering the inmates hungry to rediscover their own culture and to rehabilitate themselves had a powerful effect on Ed.
So he did the only thing he knew how when he got back – he started a pa.
In ancient Hawai`i, a pa is an enclosure, and Ed’s pa is a refuge for Hawaiian kane or males where men could come and be safe. Where they could get back in touch with themselves and their culture.
On the beautiful windward side of O`ahu, Ed’s pa is just getting started. But even we could see the promise of great things to come. So he decided to start a pa, or men’s group, where Hawaiian males can come and work on themselves in a safe space. Ed gives us a unique behind-the-scenes tour of this future refuge and his plans to develop it into a program where all are welcome. You’ll soon see it’s a place where no one is given up on - not even one - Watch It Here

HERE'S WHY IT'S TIME TO END THE ILLEGAL US OCCUPATION OF HAWAI`I
Native Hawaiians constitute roughly 22 per cent of the state population, but they represent 54 per cent of the prison population.
They also have the lowest per capita income, the highest poverty rate and the shortest lifespan of any ethnic group in Hawai`i.
Hawai`i public school students receive very poor education by any standard of measurement. They consistently rank among the lowest of any state in test scores.
Most of the bright students who manage to learn something in spite of the handicapped school system leave Hawai`i for foreign colleges and careers.
Tens of thousands of residents have no medical insurance at all.
In some cases, the lives of the working poor are worse than the unemployed.

KAU INOA / AKAKA BILL LINK EXPOSED & PONO PATRIOTS ON VOICES OF TRUTH – ONE-ON-ONE WITH HAWAI`I’S FUTURE
Recently Office of Hawaiian Affairs candidate Colin Kippen held a press conference revealing something most had suspected all along – OHA’s plan to use their Kau Inoa registry to claim support for the Akaka bill.
We reveal far more this coming Wednesday on Free Hawai`i TV - who actually owns the data base, how they plan to use it, and most significantly, who was paid under the table by OHA to go out and get signatures for Kau Inoa.
It ‘s one of our most significant and revealing reports yet, coming this Wednesday on Free Hawai`i TV.
