"The Art Of Lei Hulu - A Visit With Paulette Kahalepuna"
As a girl Paulette used to sit and watch her mother do something only a handful of other people on earth knew how to do - the art of Lei Hulu or ancient Hawaiian feather weaving. So she asked her mother to teach her this craft that centuries ago created the feather-covered capes, helmets & kahili of Hawai`iʻs most famous rulers. After a while Paulette urged her mother to open a one-of-a-kind store featuring Lei Hulu and thatʻs where we spent our day getting an inside tour. Donʻt miss our visit with Paulette as we discover amazing modern day treasures of ancient Hawai`i - Watch It Here

LIES THAT DIE & DREAMS THAT REDEEM ON VOICES OF TRUTH - ONE-ON-ONE WITH HAWAI`I'S FUTURE
What are the three biggest lies about Hawai`i today? We hear and see them all the time.
Do you know what they are and what to say when you hear them?
Find out this Wednesday on Free Hawai`i TV. We’ll show you how to reply and say goodbye to the lie.
A 19 -year-old inter-island flight attendant used to look out the window as her plane passed Hawai`i Island’s Hamakua coast. “That’s where I’d like to retire to paint some day,” she would think.
An artist since age four, Kauanoe Chang has been one to follow her dreams and take on challenges.
She discovered Hawai`i was twenty-five years behind in developing cultural artists. When she also found out some of Hawai`i’s finest artists wanted her to solve that problem, she couldn’t say no.
Meet Kauanoe and you’ll soon see why even though Ho`ea may be a small project, it creates big results in our brand new show this week on Voices Of Truth – One-On-One With Hawai`i's Future.
MONDAY, September 14th At 6:30 PM – Maui – Akaku, Channel 53
“In The Company Of Masters – A Visit With Kauanoe Chang”
Imagine this - 15 years pass since being in the arts, yet Hawaiian master artists proclaim, "start an art school & we'll help you." That's what happened to Kauanoe Chang, director of HOEA, Hawaiian `Ohana for Education in the Arts. Her goal - place students with a passion along side some of Hawai`i's greatest artists. The outcome will surprise & amaze you – Watch It Here.
MONDAY, September 14th At 7:00 PM & FRIDAY, September 18th At 5:30 PM – Hawai`i Island – Na Leo, Channel 53
THURSDAY, September 17th At 8:30 PM & FRIDAY, September 18th At 8:30 AM - Kaua`i – Ho`ike, Channel 52
SATURDAY, September 19th At 8:00 PM – O`ahu, `Olelo, Channel 53
“Ho`ea - A Long Sought Vision – A Visit With Hiko Hanapi”
A first-of-its-kind native Hawaiian arts school, Ho`ea brings master artisans from throughout the Pacific to teach both indigenous & contemporary art to students ranging from young to old. Speaking for the first time about the project, Hiko reveals their goal – mentor students intensively to produce world-class art. Filmed at the Hawai`i Prep Academy in Waimea, you’ll soon see why this native fine arts school is uniquely like no other – Watch It Here.
