ONLY ONE OF FIFTEEN ON “VOICES OF TRUTH - ONE-ON-ONE WITH HAWAI`IʻS FUTURE"
"Pioneers Of Kahikinui - A Visit With Donna Sterling"
When we met Donna Sterling at Kahikinui in southeast Maui, we discovered that while itʻs one of the largest tracts of undeveloped land in all Hawai`i, during ancient times it was home to a large population of Hawaiians. Because much skill and hard work are required to live in such a dry lava landscape, only fifteen homestead families currently live there, of which Donna is proudly one. Our afternoon visit with her made us quickly realize why she lives in this very special place. VICTORY! - UN PUTS FRENCH POLYNESIA BACK ON UN DECOLONIZATION LIST
Radio New Zealand International - May 17, 2013
The United Nations General Assembly has put French Polynesia (Tahiti) back on the UN list of territories to be decolonized at a meeting boycotted by France.
The resolution, passed by consensus, was sponsored by Solomon Islands, Nauru and Tuvalu last February but not tabled until today.
It calls on France to intensify its dialogue with French Polynesia to include a fair self-determination process.
France withdrew its Pacific territories from the UN list in 1947 and resisted the re-inscription bid by the French Polynesian government, whose term is set to end in a few hours after its election loss two weeks ago.
The campaign was driven for decades by the pro-independence politician, Oscar Temaru, who flew to New York to attend today’s vote.
The newly-elected majority in the French Polynesian assembly held its first sitting yesterday and controversially changed the agenda to hold a vote wishing an immediate end to the decolonization process.
France has immediately condemned the UN move, describing it as a glaring interference in its affairs and a total lack of respect for the choice made by Polynesian voters.

OFFICE OF HAWAIIAN AFFAIRS IGNORES HAWAIIAN BENEFICIARIES
Contrary to its mission, OHA has been ignoring the Hawaiian beneficiaries to promote its own agenda.
A couple months ago it raised the furor of the native Hawaiians when it donated $100,000.00 to the Pearl Harbor Museum.
The latest is sponsoring the debated among three candidates while snubbing 11 other candidates on the ballot that no one is aware of until they receive the ballot to vote.
Such travesty of democracy especially when there are at least two who are kanaka maoli candidates.
Last week took the cake when a Charter School and a Pa asked for assistance to help fund their trip to Tahiti to do a cultural exchange and learning experience.
For months they were negotiating for funds; then OHA's contact could not be reached in recent months and the group was put off.
Finally, last week they received OHA's decision where they were denied any assistance with the reason that they ran out of funds. THEY RAN OUT OF FUNDS! Can you believe that?

HEALING THE NATION IS HER VOCATION ON VOICES OF TRUTH – ONE-ON-ONE WITH HAWAI`I’S FUTURE
Hawaiian culture and society are centuries old, going through many transformations over time.
For its first thousand years, Hawai`i was a thriving and highly advanced communal society.
Many of those ancient ways are still practiced today, including the healing arts.
Technique and know how were handed down orally, over centuries, to present day practitioners, who know they are responsible for not only the well-being of people, but also the nation itself.
That’s why Elithe Manuha`aipo Kahn takes her healing practice seriously. So much so in fact today she employs those very methods used in pre-Tahitian Hawai`i – prior to 1100 AD.
See for yourself this week as we feature Elithe and her ancient knowledge on Hawai`i’s award winning Voices Of Truth – One-On-One With Hawai`i’s Future.
MONDAY, March 29TH At 6:30 PM – Maui – Akaku, Channel 53

SATURDAY, April 3rd At 8:00 PM – O`ahu, `Olelo, Channel 53
“Healing The Nation – A Visit With Elithe Manuha`aipo Kahn”

Elithe Manuha`aipo Kahn tells us the spellbinding story of that long ago ancient place, its powers to heal and how she uses them in healing our nation today - Watch It Here

HAWAI`I NATIONALIST & FILMMAKER SAYS AKAKA BILL SHOULD BE REJECTED
Honolulu Star-Bulletin - Feb 26, 2010
The award-winning documentary "Noho Hewa - The Wrongful Occupation Of Hawai`i" has continued to anger, enlighten, provoke and inspire diverse audiences long after its debut.
Filmmaker Anne Keala Kelly contends that the 1893 overthrow of the Hawaiian kingdom affects every aspect of life for native Hawaiians to this day.
Using the backdrop of live-fire military exercises at Makua Valley; the unearthing of ancient Hawaiian burial sites to make way for luxury homes and discount stores; protests against the Akaka Bill; and the struggles of the homeless, Kelly makes the case that native Hawaiians face systematic obliteration at the hands of an American system that promotes militarism, tourism and overdevelopment.
The film was honored as best documentary at the Hawai`i International Film Festival in late 2008 and last month won a special jury prize at the Festival International Du Film Documentaire Oceanien in Tahiti....
...QUESTION - So what do you think of the Akaka Bill?
ANSWER - What I think of the Akaka Bill is that it's the United States government - state and federal governments - attempting to further confuse people and lie to people and cover up the fraudulence of the U.S. presence in Hawai`i, the fact that it's an illegal occupation.
...This is all a lie that's designed to confuse people and also to give them the impression that Hawaiians wanted to be part of the United States and now acquiesce to being part of the United States, and in reality the bill's designed to actually extinguish Hawaiian title to the crown and government land of the archipelago....

NOHO HEWA WINS INTERNATIONAL FILM AWARD
Hawaiian filmmaker Anne Keala Kelly’s newly released documentary Noho Hewa: The Wrongful Occupation of Hawai`i was awarded a special jury prize at this week’s Festival International Du Film Documentaire Oceanien (FIFO) in Tahiti....
...Jurors were moved by its raw and passionate portrayal of the struggles of today’s native Hawaiians....
...For many Tahitian and other visiting Pacific island viewers, Kelly’s film enabled them to understand, for the first time, the realities faced by the Hawaiian people in their own homeland, and the Kanaka Maoli (native Hawaiian) resistance to the desecration and obliteration of their culture by the US military, real estate development, and tourism pressures....
