The Koani Foundation is pleased to announce its award winning television show Voices Of Truth – One-On-One With Hawai`i’s Future is now airing in broadcast markets outside Hawai`i and even the US.
In the last few weeks Voices Of Truth, in its sixth season, has debuted on local access television in Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, Oregon, Vermont, Wisconsin as well as Tonga and Sweden.
As it continues growing in popularity, Voices Of Truth will expand into cities across the United States and the world throughout 2010. Stay tuned as we keep you informed of plans for growth and expansion of the Free Hawai`i Broadcasting Network.
The attempted sale of ceded – read stolen – lands is something the fake state of Hawai`i swore they’d never do. Yet selling stolen property is exactly what they’re now attempting. Learn why and what you can do to help stop it this coming Wednesday on Free Hawai`i TV.
We feature award-winning film director Anne Keala Kelly this week describing the making of her film Noho Hewa.

“The Making Of Noho Hewa – A Visit With Anne Keala Kelly”
Returning home to live in Hawai`i and make films wasn’t what Keala Kelly had in mind. Now an award-winning filmmaker and journalist, Keala tells us a fascinating story – what it takes to make films that tell the world about Hawaiian political, cultural and environmental issues. Winner of the Best Documentary Film Award at the Hawai’i International Film Festival in October 2008, you’ll see why Noho Hewa shaped Keala as much as she shaped it - Watch It Here
Voices Of Truth interviews those creating a better future for Hawai`i to discover what made them go from armchair observers to active participants. We hope you'll be inspired to do the same.

AWARD WINNING DIRECTOR IS AKAKA BILL OBJECTOR ON VOICES OF TRUTH – ONE-ON-ONE WITH HAWAI`I’S FUTURE
If you read Friday’s Honolulu Star-Bulletin, you saw an interview with documentarian Anne Keala Kelly about her award winning film Noho Hewa – The Wrongful Occupation Of Hawai`i.
In the article she speaks out strongly against the Akaka bill, which was passed in the US House of Representatives this week, and explains how its real purpose is to confuse, cover-up and legitimize the US takeover of Hawai`i.
We’re pleased to debut a brand new Voices Of Truth featuring Keala as she reveals more about the Akaka bill, what it would do to Hawai`i and what it takes to make an award winning documentary like Noho Hewa actually happen.
So why was the Akaka bill rushed through the US House of Representatives? Why was the language of the bill kept secret until less than 24 hours before it was voted on? And who was managing it all behind the scenes? Find out all this and more this coming Wednesday on Free Hawai`i TV.
Our visit with Keala Kelly and her message is one you’ll long remember for its amazing impact. Don’t miss it this week on Hawai`i’s award winning Voices Of Truth – One-On-One With Hawai`i’s Future.

NOHO HEWA WINS INTERNATIONAL FILM AWARD
Hawaiian filmmaker Anne Keala Kelly’s newly released documentary Noho Hewa: The Wrongful Occupation of Hawai`i was awarded a special jury prize at this week’s Festival International Du Film Documentaire Oceanien (FIFO) in Tahiti....
...Jurors were moved by its raw and passionate portrayal of the struggles of today’s native Hawaiians....
...For many Tahitian and other visiting Pacific island viewers, Kelly’s film enabled them to understand, for the first time, the realities faced by the Hawaiian people in their own homeland, and the Kanaka Maoli (native Hawaiian) resistance to the desecration and obliteration of their culture by the US military, real estate development, and tourism pressures....
...The film makes a case that through the force of US laws, economy, militarism, and real estate speculation, the Hawaiian people are facing systematic, intentional obliteration.
The film features interviews with Hawaiian activists and academics, whose comments serve to further clarify the significance and direness of the ongoing erosion of Hawaiian culture....
...Noho Hewa was more than six years in production, and in 2008 won the Hawai`i International Film Festival’s Award For Best Documentary.
