OBAMA ATTACKS HAWAIIANS WITH DOI RULE CHANGE
Ke Aupuni Update - September 26, 2016
The United States launched another attack against the national sovereignty of the Hawaiian Kingdom and the human rights of the people of the Hawaiian Islands. This is part of a long history of abusive actions taken by the U.S. to perpetuate its illegal, prolonged occupation of Hawaii. It is also meant to quash the Hawaiian independence movement.
It’s disgusting that “President” Obama (born in the occupied Hawaiian Kingdom), is approving a modern-day American cavalry charge to attack, corral and subdue Hawaiians…so American interests can complete the stealing of our lands. In essence Obama it’s okay with him for the DOI to apply 'version-2016' of the genocidal actions used to attack, corral and subdue the first peoples of Turtle Island in the 1800s. Now they want to give us Hawaiians the same treatment! And tell us it’s for our own good so we’ll go quietly to the slaughter.

So, here's the deal. Occupier-in-chief Obama approved a "rule change" to allow the US Department of the Interior to grant federal recognition (we call it fed-wreck) to a yet-to-be-concocted "Native Hawaiian-American Indian tribe"...
It’s mostly hype. It is a last-ditch attempt by Fed-wreck backers…an act of desperation. They had tried everything else. So now they're resorting to manipulating Obama to bypass Congress' authority to give the DOI the power to “recognize” Hawaiians as a tribe. But even if the president gets away with this sneaky maneuver, federal recognition through the DOI is not a done deal.
Fed-wreck does not have the support of native Hawaiians, definitely not Hawaiian nationals nor any other stakeholder. I would dismiss it altogether, except that, knowing the way the powers-that-be operate, danger still lurks. I wouldn't put it past the US and its collaborators to manufacture a fake nation and manufacture fake consent.
We have been consistently maintaining that the Hawaiian Kingdom is a sovereign nation in continuity and the United States' claim to the Hawaiian Islands is completely false. But the US and its highly-funded hype machine has the media bamboozled into advancing the US narrative, including federal recognition.
All the more urgent that we make some formal moves to assert our national sovereignty and expose the United States' gross violation of international laws. The fact that the US is in Hawaii illegally must be exposed for the world…as well as those in Hawaii….to see.
Using football as a metaphor…the recent Obama action is a “Hail Mary!” pass. The football is just flung out to the end zone hoping someone is there to catch it for a touchdown. It’s an act of desperation that usually fails… Usually… But, there is a chance that it could succeed! Especially if the one who tossed the ball is also making up the rules, or even more the case, is not following the rules.
Thus, we cannot let down our guard. We have to be vigilant and bat down the ball and make sure no one catches it. That’s an effective defense and over the years we’ve gotten pretty good at batting things down.
But, we all know the best defense is a strong offense. So what can we do to go on the offense?
What if we intercept that "Hail Mary pass"… and run it all the way into their end zone! Touchdown! (more like Checkmate!) That’s taking the challenge to them! Let’s take their last desperate play and turn it into a victory for us.
Here’s what we do -
We say, “We are glad you’re ready to recognize and restore a government-to-government relationship."
"Meet our sovereign, independent Hawaiian Kingdom. How about you, the U.S., recognize this real "government-to-government” relationship?… one that you already recognized through several treaties dating all the way from 1825!”

OBAMA SPITS IN THE FACE OF EVERY HAWAIIAN
Protest Na`i Aupuni Responds To DOI Ruling
2 years ago, the Office of Hawaiian Affairs CEO Kamana’opono Crabbe a letter dated May 5, 2014 to Secretary of State John Kerry—in it, he questioned the legitimacy of US jurisdiction in Hawai`i and requested proof of how the Hawaiian Kingdom was legally annexed to the United States.
Rather than answer the question and prove once and for all that the US legally annexed Hawai`i, President Obama hastily ordered that the DOI hold public hearings in Hawai`i to discuss federal recognition. Literally, within 2 months of Mr. Crabbe’s letter, hearings on 5 islands went on for 2 weeks. Thousands of Hawaiians came out, but only hundreds were able to testify. 95% of the Hawaiians who spoke out were opposed to any notion of federal recognition or state and federal interference in our right to self determination.
Since then, Obama and his DOI have been inventing processes and manipulating data to create the illusion that the Hawaiian people want to be a tribe. And OHA, a state agency that has spent tens of millions of dollars trying to force federal recognition down our throats, has spent even more money with their fake Kana`iolowalu list, their fake Na`i Aupuni elections, and their fake Na`i Aupuni ʻAha 2016 Constitution.
Today, President Obama and the democratic party’s Hawai`i delegation in DC announced that they now have a process. But all they are really doing is covering up the crime of the illegal, US overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom’s government in 1893—something they admitted to in 1993 federal legislation referred to as the Apology Resolution and Public Law 103-150.
Today, President Obama furthered the crime of the fake annexation and the crime of fake statehood.
Today, President Obama circumvented the legal processes that the US Congress is there for, so that he could personally sign an Executive Order and give fake recognition to federally chosen Hawaiians who do not represent the Hawaiian people.
Why? So that he, and whoever his successor is, can create a counterfeit settlement for the Crown and Government land of the Hawaiian Kingdom, the so-called ceded lands.
Today, President Obama spat in the face of every Hawaiian from Queen Liliuokalani down to us Hawaiians standing here right now.
The only Hawaiians this new federal lie will benefit are the ones who will make money off of it. There is nothing, and there never was anything in it for the Hawaiians who suffer from the poverty invented by the US occupation. Our people remain the most impoverished, with the highest rates of homelessness, incarceration, diabetes, cancer, suicide and on and on.
President Obama doesn’t give a damn about us and our homeland, which has been turned into the largest military command on earth, our `aina which has been turned into the largest concentration of open field GMO test sites on earth, our `aina which is constantly being desecrated and destroyed by US policies and corporations.
When we Hawaiians look at what is being done to us from the US government and corporations, all we see is total erasure and removal of us, total exploitation and theft of who we are and what belongs to us.
We are being devoured by resort lifestyles and the military takeover of our housing, so we can’t even afford to pay rent in our homeland. We are supposed to allow the ongoing desecration of what is the most sacred to us, places like Mauna Kea for the TMT project and places like Wai`aleale so that corporations can bottle our water and sell it. Rather than let us use our water to grow our food we are being forced to accept that 90% of everything we eat is shipped in from 2500 miles away.
This is unacceptable. We, as a people, cannot allow the United States and its greedy corporations and its bought off sellout Hawaiians to get away with this. If we allow this to go on our children and their children will pay the price.

HAWAIIAN NATIONALS TO MEET WITH PRESIDENT OBAMA?
Obama Urged To Return Hawaiian Kingdom
The Committee of Hawaiian Nationals and other Hawai`i independence leaders are planning to meet with US President Obama while he is here in Hawai`i on holiday to urge him to fulfill the United States’ 120-year-old obligation to return the governance of the Hawaiian Islands to the Hawaiian Kingdom.
For the past 115 years, beginning with the fake annexation (1898) through the fake statehood vote (1959), the United States has tried to obliterate the standing of the Hawaiian Kingdom as a sovereign, independent nation-state.
But in recent years, the United States’ presence in Hawaii has been exposed—in terms of international law—as an illegal foreign occupation.
This means the Hawaiian Kingdom, though greatly impaired and obscured, continues to stand; continues to exist. Furthermore, under international law, its people (subjects/citizens/nationals) have the right to reclaim, reactivate and run their own country.
Specifically, the Committee of Hawaiian Nationals and other independence advocates wish to remind President Obama about the Lili`uokalani-Cleveland agreement of 1893, whereby the United States became lawfully obligated to restore the Hawaiian Kingdom.
President Obama can implement the United States’ part of the agreement by simply issuing a Presidential Executive Order.
This would activate negotiations to settle the 120-year-long dispute and 115-year –long occupation, and put the Hawaiian Kingdom on the road to restoration, healing, reconciliation and building for the future as a productive member of the global community.

WHICH EXECUTIVE ORDER REGARDING HAWAIIANS SHOULD US PRESIDENT OBAMA SIGN?
Now that US President Obama is on O`ahu for his annual family vacation, maybe we can convince him that if he is going to issue any kind of executive order at all, the right thing to do is to fulfill Cleveland's pledge to restore the Hawaiian Kingdom.
This would be far more honest than artificially engineering a weird GMO (Government-Manipulated Oddity) called a "Hawaiian-American Indian."
How about while Obama is in Hawai`i over the next two weeks, we light up the press and media to cajole (maybe, goad?) Obama into meeting with us, or making some kind of statement about our situation? Or engage in conversation with us?
Let's publicly pose questions to him like - Why do you want to make us into reservation Indians? Why won't you give us back our country?
Is it because you want to keep Hawai`i subservient to America?
Is it because you think Hawaiians aren't good enough?
Is it because being born in the Hawaiian Islands (a foreign country) makes you ineligible to be the US president?
If everyone posted these questions and others like it to the mainstream media, we're bound to raise some attention.

WILL THE US SUCCEED AT TURNING HAWAIIANS INTO AMERICAN INDIANS?
The Bait & Switch Game -
The Clinton Apology of 1993 was a 'bait-and-switch' gambit to cover up and avoid ever having to fulfill the 120 year-old Cleveland-Lili`uokalani agreement.
Based on the Clinton Apology, tens of millions of dollars and untold resources—human and otherwise—have been expended by the US and its puppet "State of Hawai`i" government agencies (like the Office of Hawaiian Affairs) to offer decoys like the Akaka Bill, Kau Inoa, Kana`iolowalu, and other nefarious schemes to "Indian-ize" Hawaiians.
The ploy is to lure Hawaiians (with a nice t-shirt) into signing up to form an American/Hawaiian tribal nation. In essence, joining helps the US deny any obligation to restore the Hawaiian Kingdom.
The good news is the bait-and-switch gambit has backfired.
The monumental failure of Kana`iolowalu shows that Hawaiians are ma`a (familiar) to the tribal nation trick.
Hawaiians are not buying it, and do not trust those US government agencies, quasi-government organizations and corporations that are trying to lead them down the road to captivity.

But opening up the deck to play the Obama Executive Order card, will expose (especially if we scream bloody murder) that there is only one card in that can be played. And that is the 120 year-old Cleveland-Lili`uokalani agreement.

WHAT HAPPENED EXACTLY 120 YEARS AGO YESTERDAY?
Yesterday was the 120th anniversary of the FIRST U.S. confession and apology for aiding and abetting in the seizure of the Hawaiian Kingdom government in 1893.
That first "apology" (by US President Grover Cleveland) was more accurate and comprehensive than the one given 100 years later (by US President William Clinton), and it came with a binding commitment to restore the Hawaiian Kingdom.
Here's What Went Down -
December 18, 1893 – US President Grover S. Cleveland in an historic address to the US Congress, fully admitted that the US violated international law when its diplomatic representative and military forces interfered in the affairs of a foreign country (the Hawaiian Kingdom) and enabled a handful of insurgents to usurp the lawful government of the Hawaiian Kingdom.
President Cleveland admitted that the United States' actions constituted an unwarranted, unlawful, unprovoked “act of war” against the Hawaiian Kingdom, a fully recognized, sovereign, neutral, friendly nation.
Cleveland unequivocally stated that the US actions made the US directly responsible for the wrongs committed against the Queen, the government and the people of the Hawaiian Kingdom and therefore, the US should take immediate action to repair the offense by restoring the Queen and lawful government of the Hawaiian Kingdom.
Meanwhile, In Hawai`i -
On that very same day—December 18, 1893—Queen`uokalani, the monarch and sovereign head of state of the Hawaiian Kingdom and H.E. Albert S. Willis, the US Foreign Minister (Ambassador) to Hawai`i, after weeks of negotiations, agreed to the terms of a settlement to repair the violation.
The terms of the agreement were - the US would implement the actions necessary to restore the Queen to govern the Hawaiian Kingdom and the Queen, in turn, would grant amnesty to those individuals who had committed treason and sedition by their unlawful seizure of the Hawaiian Kingdom government.
It is a binding agreement between two sovereign nations and although the US in the 120 years since, has failed to follow through, it is still incumbent upon the president, as chief executive of the US to execute.
The question is - Will the sitting US President Barack Obama, execute the agreement that was made in 1893?
Tomorrow - Part Two - The Bait & Switch Game...
Yesterday was the 120th anniversary of the FIRST U.S. confession and apology for aiding and abetting in the seizure of the Hawaiian Kingdom government in 1893.
That first "apology" (by US President Grover Cleveland) was more accurate and comprehensive than the one given 100 years later (by US President William Clinton), and it came with a binding commitment to restore the Hawaiian Kingdom.
Here's What Went Down -
December 18, 1893 – US President Grover S. Cleveland in an historic address to the US Congress, fully admitted that the US violated international law when its diplomatic representative and military forces interfered in the affairs of a foreign country (the Hawaiian Kingdom) and enabled a handful of insurgents to usurp the lawful government of the Hawaiian Kingdom.
President Cleveland admitted that the United States' actions constituted an unwarranted, unlawful, unprovoked “act of war” against the Hawaiian Kingdom, a fully recognized, sovereign, neutral, friendly nation.
Cleveland unequivocally stated that the US actions made the US directly responsible for the wrongs committed against the Queen, the government and the people of the Hawaiian Kingdom and therefore, the US should take immediate action to repair the offense by restoring the Queen and lawful government of the Hawaiian Kingdom.
Meanwhile, In Hawai`i -
On that very same day—December 18, 1893—Queen`uokalani, the monarch and sovereign head of state of the Hawaiian Kingdom and H.E. Albert S. Willis, the US Foreign Minister (Ambassador) to Hawai`i, after weeks of negotiations, agreed to the terms of a settlement to repair the violation.
The terms of the agreement were - the US would implement the actions necessary to restore the Queen to govern the Hawaiian Kingdom and the Queen, in turn, would grant amnesty to those individuals who had committed treason and sedition by their unlawful seizure of the Hawaiian Kingdom government.
It is a binding agreement between two sovereign nations and although the US in the 120 years since, has failed to follow through, it is still incumbent upon the president, as chief executive of the US to execute.
The question is - Will the sitting US President Barack Obama, execute the agreement that was made in 1893?

Many of you have expressed outrage at learning recently of the now not-so-secret plans of the Sovereign Councils Of The Hawaiian Homelands Assembly (SCHHA,) the Council For Native Hawaiian Advancement (CNHA) and the Danners to attain US federal recognition by using the executive authority of US president Barack Obama.
If successful, this sneak scheme would classify Hawaiians as a US indian tribe without your input or approval.
Many of you have responded to ask what you can do to kokua.
As you are probably aware, this coming Tuesday, December 11th is investiture day for Office Of Hawaiian Affairs Trustees. It is on that day OHA trustees will be taking a vote to elect a chairperson.
It has been the direction of the present regime to not only recently fund the Native Hawaiian Roll with another two million of your beneficiary dollars, but also support the SCHHA and the CNHA in their endeavors. Clearly OHA needs to go in a new direction.
Sources have identified Trustee Robert Lindsey as the swing vote who on Tuesday, December 11th, can make this happen.
If you are fed up with the shenanigans at OHA - the wanton spending of beneficiary monies on things like the Native Hawaiian Roll and Kana`iolowalu, their support of the SCHHA and the CNHA, as well as their determined push for a US Indian-type "Native Hawaiian governing entity," now is your chance to do something.
Both call and email Trustee Robert Lindsey today. Tell him to do the pono thing and vote for change. Tell him not to cast his vote for the present regime. Tell him not to cave in to pressure from the current regime nor believe their promises.
Tell him to vote on Tuesday, December 11th for a new Chairperson.

HOW MANY IN HAWAI`I FAVORED THE ILLEGAL TAKEOVER?
Of the 40,000 non Kingdom subjects in Hawai`i at the time of the illegal 1898 overthrow, only 1,928 or so were US nationals as documented by the 1900 census.
They represented less than 3% of the entire population.
The rest of the non US aliens were not supportive of the illegal annexation of Hawai`i by the US.
The resulting illegal "Republic of Hawai`i" had less than 2,000 citizens.
This means that less than 3% of the population, US aliens, hijacked the Hawaiian Nation against the wishes of almost everybody else.

UN OFFICIAL CALLS FOR U.S. TO RETURN NATIVE LANDS

A UN special rapporteur has called for the US to restore tribal lands, including the Black Hills of South Dakota, site of Mount Rushmore.
James Anaya announced the recommendation at the end of a 12-day tour, during which he met tribal leaders and government officials.
"The sense of loss, alienation and indignity is pervasive throughout Indian Country," Mr Anaya said.
He met with tribes in seven states on reservations and in urban areas.
The trip, Mr Anaya's first tour of Native American lands, was to determine how the United States is faring on the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.
President Barack Obama endorsed the declaration in 2010, reversing a previous US vote against it.
Mr Anaya used the Black Hills, located in South Dakota near reservations that are home to the Oglala Sioux tribes, as an example of land restoration.
"I'm talking about restoring to indigenous peoples what obviously they're entitled to and they have a legitimate claim to in a way that is not divisive but restorative," he said.
The Black Hills are public land but are considered sacred by the Sioux tribes. The area, as well as other lands, were set aside for the tribes in an 1868 treaty.
Nine years later, Congress passed a law taking the land.
The Sioux refused to accept a 1980 monetary award from the US Supreme Court, calling for the return of the Black Hills.
The reservations near the Black Hills are some of the most poverty-stricken areas in the US, with extremely high rates of unemployment and much lower than average life expectancy.
Mr Anaya cited ongoing systemic and individual racial discrimination as common themes in his discussions with community leaders.
He said ideas that native populations were gone, wanted handouts or that their culture has been reduced to casinos were "flatly wrong".
Mr Anaya will make formal recommendations in a report to be released in September.
The UN fact-finder said he had met members of the Obama administration and briefed the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs, but was unable to meet individuals members of Congress.
He said that he typically meets individual legislators during his tours of countries but said he did not know the reason why that had not happened in the US.

Congratulations to The Descendants for being nominated for five Academy Awards and providing a fleeting glimpse to a part of Hawai`i’s story that is manifesting today in the Hawaiian independence movement.
Besides having to come to terms with his closest personal relationships, Matt King, played by George Clooney, is also forced to make a decision as the executor of a large family land trust on the island of Kaua`i.
In the end he decides not to approve a lucrative resort development on his family’s land, citing a deeper trust obligation to the lands. But left unsaid is the time-bomb about to explode in Hawai`i — the increasing problem of clouded land titles traceable to the illegal usurpation of the Hawaiian Kingdom in 1893.
Did You Know That Hawaii Is NOT A “State” Of The United States?
The claim that Hawai`i is a “state” of the United States of America is false. The truth is, the US flagrantly violated a slew of international laws to take over the Hawaiian Kingdom and annex it to the US— against the will of the people of Hawai`i.
In fact, the Hawaiian people never gave the sovereignty of their nation to the US or any other foreign power. So even though the US has been imposing its rule over Hawai`i for more than a century, according to international law, the US claim to Hawai`i is illegal and fraudulent.
By law the Hawaiian Kingdom is still a sovereign, independent nation in continuity, and the “State of Hawai`i” is a puppet government installed by the US to cover up the fraud.
In spite of vigorous century-plus propaganda and indoctrination, the cover up is quickly disintegrating and the movement to restore Hawai`i’s independence is growing and steadily advancing.

Despite the 119 years of foreign occupation, in 1994, we the people — the surviving descendants of the Hawaiian Kingdom — began the process of peacefully reclaiming our nationality and restoring our country’s rightful standing as a sovereign, independent, neutral country.
Loyal Hawaiian nationals have been working through peaceful and friendly means — with Aloha — to FREE HAWAII. We are getting close!
As more people learn our story, the stronger the call for justice becomes, with legal challenges, education, demonstrations and other peaceful acts of resistance exposing the illegal occupation. Hawaiian Kingdom nationals attempting to live under the laws of their own country are routinely persecuted and prosecuted by the police and agents of the US and State of Hawai`i.
The US court systems have inflicted financial ruin, vilification, personal abuse, incarceration and even physical torture upon Hawaiian nationals treated as political prisoners.
Being a Hawaiian national is not easy, yet those who pursue independence continue to do so with the expectation that in the end, justice will prevail and freedom will return to our island nation.

After concluding an official investigation, US President Grover Cleveland, in an address to the US Congress, admitted that the United States’ actions in assisting the takeover of the Hawaiian Kingdom was patently illegal, constituting “an act of war” against a friendly nation, an egregious violation of international law.
Queen Lili`uokalani had skillfully used diplomacy and international law to safeguard the sovereign rights of her kingdom and her people.
In good faith, President Cleveland and Queen Lili`uokalani, as heads of their respective countries, negotiated an Executive Agreement in which the US pledged to restore the lawful government of the Hawaiian Kingdom. That pledge has yet to be fulfilled.
The responsibility and authority to honor the Executive Agreement rests squarely on the shoulders of the President of the United States.
Even though Cleveland and 18 of his successors failed to execute that commitment, the obligation is nonetheless incumbent upon the president to administer. All he has to do is order it done.
With the stroke of his pen, President “Yes, we can!” Barack Obama can actually FREE HAWAI`I. How providential it is that he was born in Hawai`i!
It is hoped that the American people will soon come to realize the truth about what occurred in Hawai`i and will help us encourage President Obama to act justly and honorably to release our beloved Hawaii from its hundred-plus-year bondage.
